Whoops. I posted a link to a Wiki article on William Henry Harrison, who died of pneumonia, not an assassination. Then I realized he was not on your list.

Still, I see your point. A lot of Republican presidents have also been the target of assassins.

Not a prob, I almost made the same mistake.

While the source is specific to the Tippecanoe curse, it does cover the successful assasinations. Tossing out the two unsuccessful ones and counting the ones that actually up and died you can definitely see that a Democratic president is far more likely to suffer a successful assasination attempt than a Republican by 1 to 5 odds.

Note: I am being facetious.

And of course... the caveat. (Why is there is always a caveat?)

WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW, are how many threats the S/S actually get, or how many attempts are actually made. I'm thinking that sort of info will be held close to the vest, or actually be classified/limited in some form or fashion.

Unless you are privy to that data, a statement of one party getting more threats than another is in the realm of un-provable.

Sort of like trying to urinate up a tree.

I just wanted to support the facts in the OP.

Yes they must be strained to all possible extent, their funding cut and manpower limited.

So many changes.

"Change you can believe in"

Sorry, couldn't help it.

Seriously, I hope nothing bad happens to this president. I like him, I support him, and I think that if the SS can't be up to the task parts of it needs to be delegated to the marine corps.

Right now it is in this countries BEST interest that this president remain alive throughout his term. You don't want what is down the pike if this guy get's killed.

YOU REALLY DON'T.

IMHO, I trust the Secret Service, CIA, NSA, and FBI. without them, America would be in a world of hurt. I hope that they catch and prevent any attempts of death or destruction on our president, people and country.
Do you remember the missile attack at LAX
dailypundit.com...

www.websleuths.com...

, or the terrorists that were caught attempting to sell ground to air rockets in LA?
p.s.
Tommy in SS from FWA, its been a long time since we played with aircraft and tanks. I hope all is well.

So where are they when some poor hotel maid is being rap oh wait a minute..
