Still, I see your point. A lot of Republican presidents have also been the target of assassins.

While the source is specific to the Tippecanoe curse, it does cover the successful assasinations. Tossing out the two unsuccessful ones and counting
the ones that actually up and died you can definitely see that a Democratic president is
far more likely to suffer a successful assasination
attempt than a Republican by 1 to 5 odds.
Note: I am being facetious.
And of course... the caveat. (Why is there is always a caveat?)
WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW, are how many threats the S/S actually get, or how many attempts are actually made. I'm thinking that sort of info will be held
close to the vest, or actually be classified/limited in some form or fashion.
Unless you are privy to that data, a statement of one party getting more threats than another is in the realm of un-provable.
Sort of like trying to urinate up a tree.
