FDA approves Merck's Gardasil for Boys
I have two problems with this:
1. Why spend millions researching a vaccine that doesn't really seem needed. (see quote above). Why should anyone get this??? Vaccines are known to carry serious side affects! I'm sure this will be marketed just like Guardasil for women which has already caused serious side affects and whose effectiveness is in question! Pharma companies are out of control.
2. I suppose it is a question of personal opinion and morals, but it looks like we are moving towards a society of casual risky sex. Even scarier is that this vaccine is approved for boys of age 9! I know I wasn't having sex at 9.
Genital warts caused by HPV usually clear up by themselves, and the cancers caused by the virus are extremely rare in men.
