To those who cling to absolute answers to the larger question that makes you their opposite. Funny thing perspective.

While your view is eminently sensible, it doesn't seem to be shared by many on ATS that post threads with titles about "you skeptics" and "you believers" which contain rather oversimplified views of the people they claim to be addressing...

Another great post, Isaac - kudos.

Personally, as Einstein would say, your quandary can be little more than a "thought experiment", as opinions (and, thus, consequently, the foibles of human nature) vary greatly and it is difficult therefore (if not altogether impossible) to "draw a line in the sand" as it were.

The experiment and mental exercise is still worthwhile however - so your merely posing the question encourages deeper thinking. A good thing! One day, we may get closer to a better answer (the 'truth"?) by doing so.
