Conventional weapons will never be given up, at least on a personal basis. The design is so simple, and the ammo is so cheap that electric weapons are just not worth it. Projectiles can penetrate walls, cars, ect. I'm not sure, but you would need a hefty laser just to burn through an object...and probably really slowly.

Who cares what weapons are in kids fantasy shows? BTW, the Batman Animated series still uses regular guns. Tommy guns, pistols, ect. Only Batman Beyond has lasers.

I think it's naive to assume that conventional weapons will never be given up on. After all, what is easier to take from the natural environment given the right technology - energy directly - or gunpowder? That's a bit like saying steam engines and horses would never have been replaced because coal and hay was so readily available (although I might prefer them to gasoline personally, but that's another topic).

Given the right sort of SMES (superconducting magnetic energy storage) technology, which will probably require the discovery (or widespread implementation) of room temperature superconductors, vast amounts of power could be stored in a compact energy cell, rendering conventional weapons obsolete. I might add that there were some early articles suggesting that carbon nanotubes (200 times stronger than steel) were superconducting at room temperature. I also recalling reading about them having a very high capacity to store electricity. Anybody have any follow up information on that?

How about Teen Titans animated Series and 2000's The Batman TV Series?

is the Conventional weapons that you mentioned also includes any Explosive Weapons?

I personally would like to see something in the manner of a personal 'force' field that prevents high-velocity projectiles from hurting you.
Like something off the film Dune.
That way it would mean every idiot with a gun couldn't shoot you with it but would need to use a specialised device or engage in hand to hand combat. Meaning cowardly attacks would be reduced and power given back to the individual over the armed state

Is there's a Fictional Races or societies that their arsenal is Rail Guns, Coil Guns, Gauss Guns, Missiles, Bombs, Rockets, Directed Energy Weapons, Mechs, Unmanned Aerial vehicles, Powered Exoskeletons, Flamethrowers, Hovercars, etc. but their Technology and Weaponry is Clearly Lacks Gas-driven Guns, Any Wheeled Vehicles, and Body armor vest?

This is Different story if we have Free Energy like Cold Fusion and Zero Point Energy

Better still let us have goblin and fairy powered weapons, they have just as much reality as free energy does!

The Raw Material for SMES (superconducting magnetic energy storage) are white Powder or Monoatomic Gold
