As the article states, this plate carrier was not the lightest one in the competition. Eagle Industries won that one.

Funny, tho, that KDH is in Johnstown, PA, home of POS Democrat John Murtha. Just a little more corruption in government; some scumbag lining their pockets at the expense of the troops.

And Murtha, of all people. No surprises there. I wonder if he needs the money for his slander trial that Marine was thinking of bringing against him?

it gets even worse,,, the last couple lines

"Uniform officials decided to go with UCP instead of waiting for the Army to decide late this year if it is going to issue a new camouflage pattern for Afghanistan.

“Let’s get these kids a lighter vest; let’s not delay,” Fuller said"

it's late october,,,,, so we will probably be buying double the vests,,, because you know gov't bureacracy,,,,, they''ll change the camoflauge color,,,,, which will require a whole new batch

couldn't they wait 2 months,,,,, it's not like they're going without armor,,,, it's just heavier

so you know us taxpayers are gonna have a bunch of useless wrong color vests in a couple months

no, we're not broke
