I heard this song again a few weeks ago for the first time in many years (I had the 8-track back when it first came out!) and was totally shocked by how relevant the lyrics are to me today. I remember not caring much for this song then, but I was 14 or 15 so what did I know?

I think I might buy the album again on I-tunes and give it another listen.

Yeah, I always liked Styx. Just go to Google and type in exactly like this:

so combing through these lyrics, it seems like they are warning against the NWO.

i would fully accept that many artists were approached to send messages. what better way then "mindless" music.

i'm just scratching the surface on all of this...i hope to have some sort of real addition here before the end of my shift at midnight.

I think if anything its a warning against the NWO not some effort to condition us. OR it could just be typical down with the man stuff that was and still is prevalent in some music.

I somehow think that some acts are overtly trying to send us messages and as contemptuous as I find them, Coldplays' anti-war stance would seemingly reinforce this. Bands like Floyd always seem to be conveying more libertarian ideas and concepts - but I guess it's a lot easier to do this when you'e a multi-millionaire living in a lovely country mansion, the irony does not escape me.

With regards to any Illuminati or pro-NWO messages in some music, I really don't think it's a case of that, even if the head of a record label wanted these messages to come through, how easy/hard is that likely to be to filter it down the chain to the artist/songwriter and maintain any kind of secrecy about it.

I think that with a lot of the more banal chart/pop music the real conspiracy lies in the dumbing down of entertainment and the simplistic messages of conform/obey/consume - with the emphasis on CONSUME.
