In my opinion, the DEA is out of control. They have way too much power, and no public checks and balances.

Federal agents have seized patient records from urgent-care clinics in Grand Junction and Montrose and from a doctor's office in Delta in western Colorado, but didn't say why.

Records from the medical practice of Dr. Sam Jahani were seized in Delta. Patient records of Dr. Eric Anthony Peper were also seized during the raids.

For some reason, this story just hits me wrong.

Mmmm... sounds like the doctors are maybe handing out / prescribing medical Marijuana...perhaps?

To them, that would probably be grounds for sending in the joint DEA / DHS SWAT teams to patient homes searching for evidence. They can then show how tough they are are by handcuffing and tasering a cripple or two - as an example of the evils of drugs, of course (not cos they get their jollies doing so!)

I was thinking an Oxycontin scam myself. The DEA is probably looking for the "customers" to get them to roll over on the practice for an easy conviction.
