there's nothing special about the link... most of knew we wouldn't get a COLA cost of living adjustment... we had a big one last year when gas prices topped $4... prices soared and we saw the biggest COLA ever... Gas came down, prices stabilized if not dropped, a little... so as the cost of living have remained steady by law there is no need for another COLA...

The distressing news about SSA wasn't even on your site... SSA has now reached the point where more people are being paid out then monies taken in... we were expecting that not to happen until 2016

the crappy job market has forced many to retire early, maybe to many

Looks pretty simple to me. In 2010 there is no automatic "cost of living" increase to the amount of ssi checks. Normally things like this get an extra 2-4% increase per year but not this time. The same thing has happened here in Ohio to State workers. No increase for us either.
