Remember when I surprised you with gifts
a month of silly things
like little star wars guys
to make your 40th a really special day?
I got the keys to your apartment
When you came home, there were
balloons floating around
All forty of them.
I bought you a star
to show I cared
Was the nicest gift you ever got
that is what you said.
Did you know I loved you then?
I surprised you with a trip to Cripple Creek
We gambled and walked around
don't think we won a single thing
I wished we could have stayed a week.
Still when I see you now
I get butterflies in my tummy
When you kiss me, its oh so yummy.
Alls I can say sometimes is wow.
You are the one who brings
the joy into my life,
when things are hard,
you are the first to say
It'll be alright baby
Theres only one way
I know how to love you
its with every fiber of my being.
I wish you could crawl inside
my heart just for a day
to see and feel what its like
to love you with all that I have
I know that words alone,
cannot express all that I feel
i hope by this little poem
you know just how much
you mean to me.
