And I believe that is a big possibility.

I have never really been big on conspiracies, but it is getting hard to ignore.

The problem, as I see it, is how do they jump the final hurdle? The US has resisted full conversion to the Metric System. It has been taught in schools for years, there was a very big push in the 1970's. So much of a push in fact that there may still be a few Metric road signs still out there proclaiming that such and such cities are 65 KM away.

How would decades of mandatory Esperanto in the US school system succeed where the Metric System has failed. Look at Latino Immigration. They refuse to learn functioning English. Why would they embrace Esperanto?

Now I have known of Esperanto as a language for many years now. In fact I think that it has been used by the US military for the "foreigner's" language in various War Game exercises. As for ease of learning, so much of it is based off of Germanic and Slavic words and grammar that it would be easier for the nations of the EU to adopt as an official language than it would for the UK, US, and Canada to adopt.

If we must have a universal language, I vote for Nadsat. At least it is very easy to learn and adapt to usage for the everyday people.

Great thread Stormdancer! I am bad at languages other than english, so I'll stick to english.

The whole concept of national pride is BS. Why should I be "proud" to have been born anywhere? I was born in the US. That automatically makes me cool? If I were born in Canada, I should be shamed, because it wasn't the US? Or I - me, the same guy I am now - should be proud that I was born in Canada, if I had been?

I was born in Illinois. Am I supposed to be proud to be born in Illinois? Why? I was also born in Chicago. So again, I should be a proud Chicagoan? North Sider?

My race, ethnicity, nationality, are all accidents of birth and do not reflect on me. I have as much right to be "proud" of being an American, as I do of having blue eyes or brown hair. My eyes are blue. I'm so proud.

Your race, ethnicity, country of origin, none of this is anything to be proud of. Or to be ashamed of, either. It's just what it is, and it says nothing about the person you are.

People talk about their "heritage". Most of the time, all that means is the old habits of your tribe, the institutionalized bigotry against other tribes, the abuses of minorities and women, holding on to archaic ways of life that have no place in the modern world. Most of the time "heritage" is an excuse for perpetuating crimes and abuses that would otherwise be more clearly seen for what they are.

I am a citizen of Earth, and more generally, of the Universe. I consider myself fortunate to have been born in the US, but it's not something clever I did. It just happened to me. The world cannot afford to retain these foolish distinctions between people, where folks will automatically kill other folks because of their religion, language, culture, or race. The Earth is getting smaller every day as communications and transportation shove everyone closer. We have got to learn to get along, or we'll wind up killing ourselves off.

We need to be able to have a single language and a single government. NWO is the dark side of this, but we really need to unify, not keep splintering. We need to cut out the tribalism and learn to get along, even if we don't much care for our neighbors.

I'd rather the World Language be English, but I'm willing to learn Esperanto if everyone else will, too. What the heck. We have to start somewhere. We simply cannot afford to let things continue the way they've been going. That will end in disaster for all of us. If Americans have to sacrifice their McDonald's and NASCAR culture for a greater good, then so be it.

I agree with some of their agenda items, but to destroy the USA in the process is treason! It must be done out in the open for everyone to see.

We have had tribal differences instilled in us for such a prolonged period in order for the rich and powerful to exploit our differences that man people do devoutly believe all the myths, exaggerations and out and out lies they have had their identities built around them for with.

It is good news that the people of the world aren’t ready for a one world government yet, we hear from too many French, British, Israeli, and Iranian politicians as it is presently!

It is bad news though because just as Ronald Regan the Great Communicator said “It will take a world wide crisis to unite the world” and eventually the Powers that Be will orchestrate such a world wide crisis.

The bad news is that crisis is going to be designed to kill of the bulk of the factions that really truly do not get along and will not give up their belief systems that cause them to get along. Christians, Jews and Muslims will all have their differences exploited one final time in a kill or be killed battle royal between the three sects. Most of them will die as a direct or indirect result of that conflict.

The good news is that there are so many Christians, Jews and Muslims it will make for one exceptionally large vat of fossil fuels! Kaching!

The bad news is that by the time the oil is ready we will be using alternative energy by then. I know bummer!

The reality is we don’t have to give up our cultural traits we do need to learn to be respectful and considerate to other people’s cultural traits and try to either join in them ourselves or at least make an effort to make those who do join in them feel welcome and encouraged.

I have always enjoyed learning from and experiencing how other cultures live, and I have always enjoyed learning from and experiencing the different levels of the economic and social latter too.

I am comfortable anywhere doing anything with anyone and am good at fitting in, in a way that makes the people I am joining in with feel comfortable about my presence.

Most people aren’t that way though. In part because people have been taught to have narrowly and precisely defined comfort zones and stay in them always and to fight those people and nations that live outside of that comfort zone’s way of thinking and life.

The number one thing our medias and governments teach us is fear, anger and mistrust all directed towards peoples, nations, and groups that the medias and governments often exaggerate or fabricate things about to get us to fear that people, group or nation, and to make us mistrustful of it and angry towards it.

There are a lot of false impressions and notions that will have to be overcome.

For instance that the French do not bathe regularly. Wait, that one’s true!

For instance that the British are spendthrifts and miserly with their money, oh wait that one is true too.

For instance that in Australia men are men and the sheep are real scared, oh wait that one is true too!

Anyway take my word for it there are some false perceptions that will have to be overcome for the world to learn to get along!

A star for this light of reason!

I personally loathe nationalism, it creates an "us and them" mentality and it's equivalent can be traced throughout history and is essentially a tribal way of thinking.

We should be trying to break down as many dividing facors between people as possible! Just think of what we could accomplish if we thought of ourselves as humans working towards a better future instead of rival nations striving for an improved quality of life at the expense of others.

I don't think that this'll happen anytime soon though, but if we're still around in a thousand years we may well see ourselves as a united planet maybe doing amazing things (assuming we haven't already blasted our way back to the stone age and have to start the painful process all over again).
