So, Why Can't Republicans Handle the Truth?

Why is it that when Republicans are exposed for their lies and deceit they immediately start crying Liberal Journalism? Journalism - not commentary - that's the difference!

For example, the Iraq war. All the lies that led up to the war (we all know what they are so I won't repeat them here) and then almost immediately when they were found out to be liars the story was changed to helping the Iraqis gain democratic freedom. freedom that we don't even have in the United States - like a vote counts! But that is another story. The reason Republicans scream and Whine is because they are caught with their hands where they shouldn't be, robbing people blind, making money like insurance companies and than not insuring those they take money from. I am not talking about the little guys who thinks that Republicanism still means conservatism - no - those days are long gone. I considered myself a Conservative and now a middle of the road person who leans to the left because I believe that we should not allow corporations to RAPE American citizens for profit. That is not Capitalism - that is Corporate Communism - by keeping people down by economic servitude and making them poorer that is what the republican party stands for now! Not Conservatism! And the Reason I blame "Republicans" is that they are for Corporations not People!

We as American are being screwed over and all I see on this list is how Republicans hate Obama and How Democrats Hate Bush (with good reason I may add) - they are both somewhat right - but by allowing these petty little arguments to feed on themselves the way that people like Rush Limbaugh and Hannity, O'brien, and the topper - Glenn Beck we are whipping up into a frenzy they are allowing their corporate masters to control and hide the Real problems that are occurring in America right now. Health care for all should be like Freedom for All that live in the United States - it is a Right! Not a corporate entitlement! Health Care would cost 1/20th of what we put into national defense - So What! Lets tax the Corporations like the founding fathers envisioned and not the people - that has got turned around.

My point is - someone is pulling our strings and making us argue to keep us from seeing the real problems - it is not a left v. right issue - It is a Us the people v. Them the corporations! That is the real fight we on this list should be fighting. Why should someone make a 100 million dollar bonus when their company failed and why should a baby not be given health care because it is in the 100th percentile of an outdated medical practice?

I ask WHY? I guess what I was taught in school - when we had a had real educational system was that No government ever lasted much longer than 200 years - the Romans are my example - and it looks like America won't either as long as we ALLOW our leaders to bend us over for their own profit! All there is is name calling out there and no Real down to earth debates.

This is what I see as Republicans Not being Able to Handle the Truth - Obama has reached out his hand and all he got was NO! I feel he made an effort and still does - Bush Never Did!

There, I said what I wanted to - you are now free to go back to your petty bickering!

*sigh*

Where to start. Health care is not a right. Where did you get that?

Corporate communism? So, making money is a bad thing?

Iraqi war. Both sides voted for the war. Dems and republicans. Left and right. Where you watching too much MTV then?

Al that aside, ignore Bush. He is no longer president. I know a new season of South Park is on, but even you must realize that. Obama is now the president. He presides over all the damn wars. The buck stps with him. What he does, now follows him. Not Bush. Not republicans, not conservatives.

You lefties have the White House, the House, the Senate. Why the whining? You have it all. You as a party, can do what ever you want. Stop the wars, close GITMO, raise taxes, socialize medicine, destroy our country.

You won.

We lost.

Why the issues? Get on with it. *sigh, again*

I understand it's hard to forget Bush is gone being that Obama looks so much like him and all. I get confused to listenignto what Obama says and watching what he does. I often ask "didnt we get rid of Bush?"

Ever the optimist I'll assume your post is coming from some plateau of naivety where you've concluded one party is full of crap but you have yet to climb the next slope to realize the other party is just as full of all the same crap.

From here you'll either climb up or get stuck in what you perceive to be a "happy place" where you can make a sport of your own ignorance. The choice is yours.

Mike, we both know why. If they pass all the legislation that they dream of, there will be no one to blame but them when it inevitably fails. This is the ONLY reason "bi-partisanship" is so important to them.

Republicans right now in govt are 100% irrelevant and completely powerless, yet the media and wonderful posters here at ATS continue to focus their attention on them instead of using the power they have to get things done. Every day here at ATS I see some post about how Republicans are blocking/stopping govt health care.. and it still gives me a good chuckle.

Even with the super majority Dems are having to resort to tricks like the reconciliation vote to get their bills passed.

They are choosing to, not having to

Meh, true. Just wanted to get a reaction.

I can guess how the left wants to redefine bipartisanship.

Too true. Which makes me wonder why the dems aren't dancing in the streets.

Could it be that there are some that might think what the democrats are doing is wrong?

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!!!

Soon there will not be many corporations to kick around any more. Fewer jobs, less money to spend and no free medical insurance. Thanks to the anti corporate left.

Now that the left wing master race is in charge of everything. Cost for everything will sky rocket. Without solid capitalism teat to suck on socialism produces nothing at all for the whining liberal masses.

Probably from the fervent wish that it was...like it is in so much of the civilized world. Sorry...but you pushed that button for me.

Johnny, Johnny, Johnny. *sigh* We do go round and round on this issue.

Gods bless you my Canadian friend, but here in the states, it ain't a right. Neither is driving to work. Neither is day-care. We're a wee bit more independant than that. Just the way we Americans are. even transpanted folks like me.

Ok...let's not pursue it...but really, you can't equate health care with driving and day care (though I believe you can include day care in Quebec). If we need to go on...do u2u so as not to derail the thread.

Democrats and republicans are both owned by corporations, its just a matter of degree and which ones. They are both evil. If you really care about this country never vote for either again and support moving away from a two party system. The real problem is within the political arena its all about Coke or Pepsi, yet both are really bad for you.

shadow i hope that you have taken a little advise from the posters thus far. as there is no longer a republican or democratic party, nope just an agenda. that has been thrown down the united states citizens throat smoothly by a supposed left and right party. i realize alot of people still havent figured this out yet, but maybe within time, most will. stop sipping the kool aid my man, open your eyes and realize has anything truly changed since bush left office?

if your eyes are opened your answer has to be NO

Is this forum secretly called "Democrats vs. Republicans"? Did I miss the memo?

Anyone who takes part in partisanship is a complete moron. Period.

"It's us versus them!!!"

Screw it.

You can just call me an American, I'd rather not be either/or.

The fact is all americans that could not offord healthcare had/have it for free. Always have.

Now that the socialists are in charge of America there will be fewer free lunches, not more.

The once great country of America is now turning mediocore like Canada and Europe. I guess America couldn't be great forever. Too bad.

That's what this country is finding out. But this country did vote for change, and they are getting it.

I assume you are a Democrat?

Well, I heard that all Democrats are socialists, worship Obama as a god and want the entire country hooked of soylent green.

Does that make it true? Do you really want that? (I don't think you do, the real question is how you think it's helpful to cling onto the underbelly of a "political clique")

Why would you associate yourself with a "political party"? Do you really have such a sheepish opinion (or the lack there of) that you must align yourself with other idiots to think anything at all? Are you capable of thinking for yourself? Are you capable of seeing another person as an American, instead of a Democrat or Republican?
