Translated.

Swedish sites went down
All Internet addresses ending in .SE went out on Monday evening.
Millions of Swedish Internet users were affected.
- It was a planned update work with us that went wrong, "said Danny Aerts, president of the Foundation for Internet Infrastructure.
According to Danny Aerts the break started at 22 o'clock last night and lasted for about 20 minutes.
All Internet addresses ending in .SE are hit.
- We immediately had an alarm that it was wrong for an update with us. So we corrected it immediately. How it could happen I do not know really. We have several teams investigating it now.

Hundreds of thousands of pages
Several major Swedish sites had problems.
- But since the break was so short the most popular sites was the ones who had the shortest break.
Because they have often information stored a long time with its ISP and does not need to update against us so often, "says Aerts.
Now, all problems will be resolved by the Foundation for Internet infrastructure, according to Aerts.
- If a site still is down it´s because the broadband provider have not updated their information to us. '
According to Danny Aerts has something similar not happened in recent years in Sweden.
- Not that I can remember in the last ten years anyway, "he says.

Fact is that still at this hour 02.30 GMT several hundreds of thousands sites are still down and there´s no news covering it at this hour what so ever!

Since the "solution" to the "problem" was that:

Now, all problems will be resolved by the Foundation for Internet infrastructure, according to Aerts

what do we know about the foundation for internet infrastructure?

A consolidation of the media information through a centralized infrastructure sounds ominous; especially considering that the MSM hasn't covered such a momentous event.

Umm... the link you gave us was to a Swedish site ending in .se, yet I was able to access it.

I'm thinking that either this whole thing is overblown, or it is over by now.

[Update:] OK, so the entire .se domain was down for 20 minutes at 10 PM. That's pretty terrible, but at least it happened during the night, when there would be less urgent need for access. Continued outages for many sites is a result ot caching, which could be fixed by flusing the caches.

You have to read the whole post, not just the title. Having an entire country's internet go down for even 20 minutes is a big deal. Several hundred thousands of sites are still down according to the OP. Obviously, not every site but those that don't update often.

Not sure if it's related but:

www.ffii.org...

In this case the FFII stands for 'Foundation of a free information infrastructure'

Most FFII members and supporters are independent software developers, patent experts, and academics who have studied the patent system and understand its strengths and weaknesses. We monitor proposals for new laws and treaties that affect the IT sector, and we analyse these proposals and prepare responses. We research the consequences of software patents in particular areas, and we collect results from studies conducted around the world. We make our research available to industry, to politicians, and to academia. We alert people to problems that may not yet be visible to all. We define policies. We organise conferences, meetings, reports. We work with politicians to build better laws.[/quotes]

To make one thing clear the Foundation for Internet infrastructure is a private company who took over the responsibility from KTH (Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan=Royal Technichal University...approx)

And this has never happened before. Not to my knowledge.

Obama just hand over the power of the internet to ICANN ... who in return handed it over to the UN.... Obama also just signed in Executive order to shut down the net... Obama also just become the first prez to head the security council at the UN.... this could be a trial run to see if it works and how people react... just a thought or possibility...
