I don't know what part of the world you live in, but here in the States the office of the President is not an award. It's decided by the process called "election". If you don't understand this concept, I'll be happy to help.

I really wonder what your own achievements are, because this tastefully capitalized line of yours seem like an attempt to put down a very talented man, who has accomplished quite a bit. Sorry you lost this presidential race, pal.

I was reading this thread and I was thinking.

Is it a signal from the Nobel prize committee?
It is so obvious that Obama didn't deserve it and therefore many people will be aware that there is a game being played with them. Even the press awed when it was announced.

For the first time, I think, I actually disagree with you... strongly.

Obama has done quite a lot to gain him the nobel peace prize (no caps on purpose, of course).
As Dr. Paul alluded to in Modern Acamdemia's (?) post, we should look at yet another American President who won the prize to see what he has done and maybe gain an insight into how these things are awarded.

Woodrow Wilson. President of Princeton University (an elitist), He helped spearhead the Federal Reserve Act and the Federal Trade Commission Act. I do't think any clarification is needed there. The Federal Farm Loan Act, great give the fed control of the farm... Women's suffrage, which may not be a bad thing, but it certainly has not become a good thing as it increases the workforce, but also the extent at which the Federal Government taxes the family and makes the family subject to the increases in Federal fiscal irresponsibility... has the added bonus of destablizing the nuclear family unit...

This list could go on and on. Wilson, another prize winner, is without doubt one of the worst Presidents this nation has ever borne witness to. He drug us into war and was still given the prize.
Sure, it may help the globalists that he was a PhD of philosophy.
In retrospect, it is apparent his personally philosophy was one of globalism, even at the cost of American Soverignty.

Obama is following this same road. Communism is better, in the world's eye, than a republic in America.
For a republic is not Governed by a central group. Communism is. Central group being the same nimwits that award these ridiculous elitist trinkets.

Make no mistake, this award was granted Obama as a message from the Globalists of the things to come if Obama continues to play ball as he has promised to play it. By literally handing the soverignty of the United States over to the UN.

Everyone has their opinion on who deserves any award that's handed out. From your average Joe Blow on the street type folks... to PHD's and politicians and yes even leaders like Hugo Chavez. That's all they are... opinions, and you know what they say about opinions.

I personally don't think a leader who's Commander in Chief of a country that's waging several wars at the same time should be in contention for any award with the word "Peace" in it but that's just my opinion.

I have to think that all across the globe there are far more worthy candidates that aren't as widely known and aren't in the public eye... yet they toil behind the scenes in their communities and countries working towards a goal of peace in their regions.

This Nobel Prize award is certainly a very public and noted award... but I don't believe it will make one bit of difference in either advancing or achieving any actual "peace" in the world. People died in wars before the award was presented, died in wars on the day it was presented and are dying in wars since the award was presented.

Alternatively, maybe the most suitable option would have been to do what was done in the past... have no award as there is no one in the world worthy of the award as we have no peace and no signs of peace currently in our world.

I actually like the previously posted theory that this is just being used to send some cash his way from the globalists. It's true he does not have the business ownership and investment portfolio to enable direct payoffs like both Bush's, the Clintons and others in power have enjoyed.

The guy just graduated from the level of political corruption where bribes take the form of really, really nice deals on purchases - like buying a mansion for pennies on the dollar via a zero interest loan or getting a really great deal on some land only to have a developer or government project come along and pay you 1000 times what you invested.

Those are the kinds of bribes state politicians and new congress persons get unless they come from wealthy families still flush with assets.

You know, if they'd given him the prize just for being the first Black President I'd be willing to play along. Not that he really accomplished that, the voters of the US would be the real candidates for the award but to give him a peace prize after he completely broke his promises to get the military out of Iraq and Afghanistan?

As others have pointed out, they had to nominate the man before he was able to do anything. It makes you wonder if he was supposed to do something which ended up derailed for some reason.....

I look forward to next year's winner, Paris Hilton. It should be fun watching her give her speech with a little tiny dog in her purse.

Wow, Chavez, a dictator who depends the entire credibility of his regime over propaganda against the United states, said this... wonderful... Im starting to find it rather bothersom at the rigthwing nodding along with dictatorships and terrorists these days for the sake of the ideology... it wasnt too long ago that merely being critical of an oil war made you "unamerican".

Chavez said something most of us agree to... so really I dont see the point of this... but my comment above summarizes my feelings over this new "alliance" with conservatives.

The big winner goes to a President who says one thing and does another in a time of war with several countries?
Or was it a detraction away from NASA?

Whats become of it all?

The truth is that because Obama has no lucrative business or corporate stakes like most U.S. Presidents the Powers that Be have to funnel him money by hook or by crook one way or another. A 1.4 million dollar check comes along with the Nobel Peace Price.

Obama needs the Nobel Prize like he needs a garden at the White House. The 1.4 million will pick up a few pairs of 600.00 tennis shoes for Michelle though!

Thanks Nobel Prize committee. You make it awfully plain for anyone to see!

Barack Obama truly did NOTHING to earn the Nobel Peace Prize. So far as President he has truly done nothing except hand out huge paychecks to corporate sponsors and lucrative White House jobs to old left wing radical socialists friends.

He obviously is worth every penny of the 1.4 million dollars to those who paid for his election.

I'm pretty sure that's how much he donated to charities recently.

edit: see the article below, it's how much he's planning to donate. so much for that whole 600,000 pairs of shoes or something for michelle, huh

I'm a fan of Chavez, as he seems to be that rare thing - a leader whose people appear to genuinely love him and who appears to genuinely love his people over the test of many years.

My knee-jerk reaction to the prize was the same as Chevez... However, if this influences Obama in any way to do some good in the world, then it must be said that the means justify the ends in this case. If Obama is genuine, then anything that strengthens his resolve is indeed a very good thing.

On the other hand, for all i know it could be simply a public grand gesture by TPTB to help sell his persona to the world and further convince us suckers that we must obey the great Obama... Who knows!

To be honest im sick to death about this topic i think its been done to death revived and killed all over again. lets be realistic here. Lets look at the FACTS and see where that leads us.

FACT : Obama was in office 12 days when he was nominated.

what does this mean?

well logic would dictate that OBVIOUSLY 12 days isnt a long enough time frame to prove worthy. So that means this was all pre ordained planned and prepared well before he even won the election. (laugh) ahh the election another joke but i will stay on topic. Im fairly sure whom ever is orchestrating this whole fiasco is doing so knowing full well the implications. Most Americans might be stupid enough to think he deserves it but the rest of the world are not that blinded by the gleaming smile that radiates from the number one celebrity that is Obama.

FACT : Obama has committed more troops to the war, Exactly the opposite of what he said he would do.

Seriously was the committee on crack? probably but more than likely they were either paid off or simply told this is the guy who is getting it.

So the big why? Why go through all this what are they trying to set the stage here for? Obviously i dont know, all i know is that this is a game and the pieces are being set in place. This to me feels like 1 of 2 things. This was either a stunt to MindF%$k the US population to make them think:

Nobel peace prize = Peace

Peace = Good

Obama wins Peace prize

Obama = Good

I know how simplistic that sounds and it is BUT lets keep in mind the quality of the intelligence there trying to mindf%$k here. The same minds that tune into Jerry Springer and the rest of that mind numbing crap. Couple that with bad diet drug and alcohol abuse and there arnt much braincells to wash.

Look im sorry for the negativity but the blatant show of power by these corrupt government mafia is really bringing the worst out of me. They are basically saying this is all bulls$%t all the awards all the things you think mean something means nothing. The united nations are NOT united. America ISNT the good guy and there is no Santa clause. Im sorry but thats just too much bad news for one day. I seriously have no hope for this world as long as people keep defending these morons.

That counter point article is an excellent find... Worth the reading to visualize how Europeans might see world events.

Granted, America didn't suffer the same damages as Europe during WWII and the effects of the Cold War as they had to endure, however, the entire world suffered from the Cold War.

We can commiserate with Europe's situation, the Cold War effected even such a 'far away' place as Silicon Valley in the 70's-90's. Because at that time we were the highest value target of the Soviet Nuclear arsenal.

It was not unusual to hear "I'm not worried if nuclear war breaks out... We'll get hit with so many nukes we'll never know what hit us."

Even at social events, parties etc... it wasn't uncommon to hear something like that. You know it's true. You live with it. Everyone did. Not just high value nuclear target areas. We just knew that we were first to get hit if it were to happen.

Reading about the fears that Europe had during the Cold War and beyond is interesting, but in no way completely justifies awarding a novice and under-achiever. That's been wholly proven to the point that it's undeniable.

He might even be proven by law to be a traitor to 'his' country in a few short months. How ironic.

This whole Nobel Prize fiasco has been great for documenting the opinions of disbelief from every corner of the world. Even Obama's best buds.

edit to add...

Well, this OBVIOUSLY means now that Chavez is a racist. Just like anyone who disagrees with the messiah,er.. Obama.

LOL... Star for you!
