I don't respect the flag at all. Its a peace of cloth. I am an American, born and raised here and I love this country but I wouldn't mind spitting on our flag. You used to have to pledge your allegiance to it ever day, and if you didn't do exactly how everybody else does it then you are disrespecting the flag and the country. Why are you talking about taking someones rights and liberty away, I thought this site was about staying aware and standing against those who would do exactly what you are hypothesizing.

From the title of this thread, I assumed Obama himself was trying to replace the current flag with one of his own making.

Some people in this country, have a huge obsession with "the flag", like it's some sort of grail or magic stone.

So some Obamabots wanted to put their Savior on a flag...big deal. It's a piece of fabric. They're probably made in China anyways.

Why is the title of this thread written in a way that suggests something nefarious, when you could probably find an item like this at some dollar store or tourist trap?

While I side with those who are against the desecration of the flag, one thing that perhaps has escaped everyone's notice (unsure, didn't see any mention of this as I read through) is that the actual image of Obama used isn't exactly a flattering one, by any means.

Seriously, look at it... the man looks constipated and confused. This is not a "flag" created to worship the man!

Most likely some goofball on one of those image boards created this image for the express purpose of trolling, and has now succeeded beyond their wildest dreams! Suddenly, the blogosphere picks up on it, ATS picks up on it, and before you know it, the nation gets to argue about it endlessly at watercoolers and Patriot meetings, all over the 5 minute creation of some kid who's in Geography class bragging to his friends.

Just a little perspective. This whole thing is, in my opinion, silly. Only a FOOL would fly one of those in their yard, no matter their political affiliation or beliefs. Arguments on both sides of this have validity, but in the end, this is just another non-story that wouldn't exist without the internet and really, really bored people.

Please, let it die. You guys are better than this. I've lurked long enough to see such.

Come on people, it is a novelty flag. Their are dozens of them of all different styles. I use to have one with the print of a bald Eagle over the flag. If this one is so horrible then they all must be. If you pick and choose which alterations of the flag you consider "bad" then you are nothing more than hypocritical, and therefore your opinion is moot.

The weird thing is, I'm very Nationalistic and I could give a hoot about a flag.

And all the talk about soldiers dying for it yada yada....lol. Oh romantic it all sounds....(violins)

No guys, many fought for a paycheck, to feed their kids and wife, were drafted, and yes some enlisted.

For my Freedumbs ? Other than WW2( which is also debatable)......I'm not buying it.

I have to promise myself to stay out of threads like this in the future. So many issues going on, the flag is like #3452345 on the To Do list.
