given the size and amount of lights.. advertising blimp or a genuine unknown flying object.

Looks strange nevertheless.

Normally I'd think that's bullcrap if it didn't look just like the UFO I saw. They are literally trying to disguise themselves as planes at this point. I'll post a forum about the UFO I saw in a few minutes just so people can speculate and stuff. Lol

I pulled a page with Chinese UFO reports.
According to the vid, this HK UFO happened in 2004.
This report page doesn't show any reports in Hong Kong in 2004.

UFO Sighting Reports - China
Please note that the reports in this section have been submitted
to UFOINFO/UFO ROUNDUP and accepted in good faith.
No investigation has been carried out by UFOINFO.

With the increasing use of digital cameras we are seeing
more photos showing alleged 'UFOs' -
many of these could be insects, cloud shapes etc.
As many readers have asked to see the photos I will be
using some of them and leaving it to the individual
to make up their own mind - John @ UFOINFO.

2007

Jun 18th - Shanghai
Aug 26th - Hong Kong
Sep 12th - Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong

2004

May 31st - Tianhe TEEM Plaza, Guangzhou city, Guangdong Province

1993

?? - Fujing Province

That's what I've got so far.

Cheers,

Erik

It's strange how the person with the camera seems to focus in on the area the UFO is about to appear in. Even zooming in and out before it's actually seen by the camera. Though, there is always the possibility that the person seen it with his/her own eyes and was trying to get the camera focused on it correctly. But then again, it was dark and the quality of the camera seemed sub-par.

A user who commented on the video said it was a night kite, "which is popular in China". I searched around and tried to find some LED night kite videos. I found a few that could look similar at night, but the key difference was they all seemed to pull off pretty cool aerobatic feats, unlike this one, which seemed to appear stationary at times.

I can see how a night kite could be confused with a UFO, but with this video it's hard to tell exactly what it is, whether or not it's stationary or moving at certain points was what made it hard for me to tell. In my opinion, from checking out videos and really being 100% unsure either way..

5% it's some kind of night kite
95% it's an unknown aircraft or some kind

With the black night sky and only showing the skyline once its hard to get a good perspective, but you can definitely see a triangle structure when the person focuses the camera. Its something alright.

LED kite

Busted

With a little wind I can fly my kite stationary in the sky, no problem there.
Same colors as well.

Cheers!

I think that is a pretty plausible solution. Definitely the one that makes the most sense. I wouldn't say 100% clinched however as the light grouping likes considerably different than what you posted but that can be changed around quite easily can't it now?

Good job.

Cheers,

Erik

Yes I think one can modify these kites pretty easily.
I'll stick with the LED kite for now

That clip had me until you posted what a LED kite looks like InvsibleObserver.

Luckily, there are good debunkers around.

As said before, these LED kites are easily modified, it could look many ways.
Youtube it, and you'll see.
To look at one clip only, does not exclude the truth from being that.

For now the the LED kite idea seems the most logical at hand...

And BTW, thanks for indirectly saying we 'suck at debunking'.
Your usefulness in this thread was beyond the measurable.

Peace

No doubt you can send up a number of things in the air with blinking lights and such, and get fantastic Youtube videos as a result.

Which is why we have to scrutinize them carefully.

Nevertheless, I do not consider that you can debunk let's say a UFO video simply on the principle of Occam's Razor or suspicion of hoax. That is often the stance of ATS's less skilled debunkers, and that's what I referred to. You have to show that an object is what it is because it has got the properties of that object. That's what you did here.

Otherwise, it remains an unidentified object.

Thats a pethitic and WEAK attempt to try to debunk this video as a being a kite.

Gotta bring something better to the table than that if your gonna argue this is a hoax..

Thats a little better attempt but I still dont think the object in the OP moves anything like a kyte.

Kytes need wind to fly in and thus they're going to be moving around in the wind. This thing appears to be sitting there pretty steady without much movement if any.
