The shield research seems to be an important step.
I heard of a ship with 11" stainless steel hull from Germany in the 1940s.
Even if the ship were non existent , the shielding concern must have
dreamed up the number.
Guess they had to wait for stainless steel sinks.
With weight being no problem in static propulsion one should
have the thickest walls possible.

That sounds like the Bismark.
I'll go with 7" Aluminum Oxynitride / 3mm 6061 Aluminum /
2 mm lead sheet / 1 mm copper sheet.
