Immaterial whether SRS is part of 14 Int or not. That is off topic.

All Spec Force troopies use whatever weapons they consider up to the job although in most cases, weapons and equipment are specific to tasking - not the other way round.

It is not documented whether the SRS use the SA80 or not. The only reason the TA (SAS (VR)) use the L85A2 is due to political pressure. Having said that, on live ops, they do use the more 'exotic' wpn types.

Agreed Fritz. Contrary to popular belief, British SF troops are still restricted to an extent in the weapons that they use. Just because a certain trooper likes a gucci go-faster bit of hardware, that doesn't mean that the shed will let them use it. Weapons at patrol level are usually dictated by the task, resup availability, ammunition commonality etc.

This is a thread for British army weapons, not what individual special forces use.
