I was responding to some technical questions on a computer tech board.....

A supposed expert said there is no difference in speed of flash drives, save USB 1 or 2.

It is just wrong.

He then went on to tell me I was mistaking system ram for a flash drive.

I had to explain that system ram, like flash drives come in various physical, storage amount and speeds.

English... do you speak it?

What?

Huh?

I don't get it? You mean that flash drives have speeds? I thought they were just storage devices and had no real RAM themselves but had ROM?

I'm gonna smash my computer with a rock.

Yeah, I bought a crappy Acer Netbook a few months ago (POS) and called Acer help because my 30 day return ran out and the thing was slow as dirt. I swear the guy on the phone didn't know anything about computers. I had disabled startup programs, disabled IE add-ons, upgraded my ram, deleted bloat and it still ran like #&(*. But the guy on the phone was like, "Um, can you tell me if your internet is connected? Are you sure you cliked the program load button TWICE?" I was seriously like "WTF? You get paid for this?"

Yes, some flash drives are faster than others.
Flash drives, like computer ram, come in various speeds and amounts.

RAM=Random Access Memory
ROM=Read Only Memory

If you open one up you will find ram chips that look like those on computer ram.
