"Maybe it is all non-american posters who are already live in socialist or communist countries that want to pull us into the fray. I am not saying they are doing it out of evil intent, but they actually think that is a good way to live because they have never know what freedom is really like."

1) If the USA is getting "pulled into the fray" it is because of its own doing. Not taking responsibility for your own problems and placing the blame elsewhere is immature, to say the least.

2) You actually think getting beaten, tasered, gassed and arrested for exercising your rights under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution is Freedom? Someone must be happy to see that all these brainwashing tactics are working on the masses.

Disinfo agents are usually rather easy to spot, since they do not possess the intelligence to act and think on their own.

That is all my point of view of course but its always worth remembering that everyone if different and like me some people are dignified in their approach, I have always stood back and taken in the environment before making my taking my first cautious step. Its just the way I am I suppose

I think your approach is the most prudent.

Please don't mistake my comment about "profiles" as the mark of the beast, so to speak.

No one here, I hope, trolls profiles.

But, when you see the same preposterous statements repeated regardles of source, reality and truth, you get kind of curious as to what kind of person embraces such tactics.

Especially when the lack of substantiation is confronted head-on.

The lack of profile bit is just one piece of a larger puzzle.

The emptiness and sometimes meanness are the first clues that something OTHER THAN CONTRIBUTION is motivating the posters.

Welcome aboard. I hope to hear more reasoned thought like this from you.

Is mine the first "star" you get?

From my experience, some of the most insightful press coverage and ATS posts come from beyond the borders of the United States.

My first choice, every day, is to see what the foreign press is saying, has said, et c. that day.

Saldy, in the "Land of the Free" we just don't get a broad spectrum of issue reportage from the MSM.

Unless you know where to look.

Thanks for adding to the views from afar.

I think you two share an office - sitting next to each other and backslapping right?

There seems to be a constant effort to raise political division, by raising this phony left and right paradigm - which now only exists in the NWO's wet dreams, and the minds of those stupid enough to buy into it.

I don't care about Obama - I don't care he is black - I don't care because he is a nobody puppet, anyone elected president of the US has to eat sh-t and do what they are told - and they can send a trillion agents to a trillion sites, and people are still going to know he is a useless puppet - and left and right are non existent idea's promoted in the same way that racism, sexism, religious intolerance, and all other forms of division are.

There are no real divisions - the government propaganda machine is simply at work creating laws to divide people into hating groups so it makes it all easier to control.

They NWO fear a united world - they fear a united America - they fear understanding and tolerance.

Get over the useless political paradigm - stop re-inventing it - it is a dead concept.

ATS didn't have this problem a year ago.

jw

jdub

This is what you are doing. You claim that disinfo agents are here as fact, and you have no evidence to support this. From your point of view people who dissagreee and don't provide valid sources are disinfo agents. But your sources are not valid. They are all heresay and they do not contain any evidence to back up the claim.

Let's look at one of your sources for instance. You state that the FTC is actively policing and montioring blogs. This is your source:internet police
No where in this source does it have a link to any valid piece of evidence. I would not doubt it but you fail to provide a decent source. Why not use a source directly from FTC because since your sources provide no evidence that is probably where they get their information, but we have no idea because they don't say. Here is a link to an FTC source to get you started:www.ftc.gov...

The Federal Trade Commission is seeking public comments in advance of upcoming workshops that will explore the Internet’s impact on the news media, including the new avenues for innovation and the financial challenges that it has created for the industry. The workshops on Dec. 1-2, 2009 will consider a wide range of issues, such as Internet-related changes in advertising and the way people receive news, ideas for reducing costs and restructuring news organizations, potential for-profit and non-profit models for journalism, and the evolving competition among news organizations.

There is a link at the bottom of the page to sgive suggestions. Understand that the FTC is there to serve you. If you don't like something it is planning you do have a voice in the matter. But you seem more concerned about distorting the perception than informing people about how to have a voice in government. If not then you should have provided an actual FTC link pertaining to the matter and a contact link.

Your sources for secret bloggers all have no evidence, they are all right wing blogs or editorials which anyone would rationally expect to print false accusations about a left wing government and they all point to the same blog "muffledoar" as their source. In fact the bloggers are not secret. There is actually a blog on the DOJ website.

You are doing exactly what you are complaining about. You are posting blatantly false information and claiming myth as fact. And you are making unfounded accusations against other members.

Disinfo agents from all sides have always been here and always will. The situation will only get worse. The Chinese are the biggest culprits across the whole internet. There are entire buildings full of these agents sat in front of screens tapping away....and no I will not provide proof.

However any reasonably intelligent ATSer can spot them a mile off. Just press the ignore button and they can no longer derail threads.

I find it quite amusing that there are a number of them active on this thread right now.

The FTC IS monitoring blogs, contrary to your misdirection.

The revised Guides specify that while decisions will be reached on a case-by-case basis, the post of a blogger who receives cash or in-kind payment to review a product is considered an endorsement. Thus, bloggers who make an endorsement must disclose the material connections they share with the seller of the product or service. Likewise, if a company refers in an advertisement to the findings of a research organization that conducted research sponsored by the company, the advertisement must disclose the connection between the advertiser and the research organization. And a paid endorsement – like any other advertisement – is deceptive if it makes false or misleading claims.

Celebrity endorsers also are addressed in the revised Guides. While the 1980 Guides did not explicitly state that endorsers as well as advertisers could be liable under the FTC Act for statements they make in an endorsement, the revised Guides reflect Commission case law and clearly state that both advertisers and endorsers may be liable for false or unsubstantiated claims made in an endorsement – or for failure to disclose material connections between the advertiser and endorsers. The revised Guides also make it clear that celebrities have a duty to disclose their relationships with advertisers when making endorsements outside the context of traditional ads, such as on talk shows or in social media.

The Guides are administrative interpretations of the law intended to help advertisers comply with the Federal Trade Commission Act; they are not binding law themselves. In any law enforcement action challenging the allegedly deceptive use of testimonials or endorsements, the Commission would have the burden of proving that the challenged conduct violates the FTC Act.

ftc.gov...

and as for your denigration of the source, you acknowledge their ACCURACY when you admit that the DOJ does employ bopggers.

So, FTC monitoring? Check.
DOJ hiring bloggers? Check.

Use ad hominem, attack the source, and misdrect all you want.

Be more careful not to prove the underlying facts YOURSELF, next time.

What misdirection is that? How is pointing you to the FTC website "misdirection"? If anything I offered you a step in the right direction.ftc.gov... This is probably what your blogs were referring to, but don't you think it would be better to actually bring this up in your original post instead of taking opinions from right wing blogs which didn't even mention it?

and as for your denigration of the source, you acknowledge their ACCURACY when you admit that the DOJ does employ bopggers.

I showed to you that the DOJ has a blog on it's website that does not however acknowledge any accuracy that secretly paid DOJ bloggers are spreading disinfo. Please don't try to jump to conclusions without facts.

So, FTC monitoring? Check.

You have a hint of FTC interference with blogging now, but not yet have you proven they are actually monitoring us. I would suggest you start another thread to focus on this because this one has already been sullied by all the disinfo in your op. And I would leave out all those sources that offer nothing but useless opinion. My guess is that ATS members would have more valuable opinions than your blogs.

DOJ hiring bloggers? Check.

Yes they hire bloggers but that's not what your problem was. You thought they hired bloggers to spread disinfo on other websites.

(Thank you for your assistance.)

Your welcome to my help,

Use ad hominem, attack the source, and misdrect all you want.

Now this makes your gratitude seem disingenuous. You may think I was making an ad hominem attack, but what you should notice is that I am only pointing the fact that you were spreading disinfo. Your sources were not valid and again you seem to be confusing helping you with misdirection.

Be more careful not to prove the underlying facts YOURSELF, next time.

Proving facts is my goal.

If a person doesn't answer a direct question posed to them...and they're the ones that came on here complaining and blowing smoke...and their account is relatively new...I'd put them on block/ignore. Over the years I've been on the web it amazes me how many people will ignore the ignore button! They actually like to complain over and over again concerning a certain *Person* or argue with a *Person* that can't be argued with! Some people like to come on boards just to stir up the pot, see how mad they can make yea...and people fall for it each and every time. I say use that damn button and stfu!!!

What good is this post/thread/argument?

This forum, as in the many others just like it, have a mass of people, all of which are completely unknown, providing their opinion and experiences. Nothing more! What's being written and mentioned in these message boards do not change policy or the world. At best they provide people with different perspectives to consider. But wait, if someone is reading the posts of a message board, they most likely already share similar beliefs, knowledge and interests.

Who cares if the Gov. has posters in message boards. Its a brave new world we live in. The success of message boards is based on the fact that we love infotainment and the 24hour news cycle. We see an interesting topic and completely consume it all in anticipation of what's next. We are quick to post our opinions on a message board in hopes that someone out there in the unknown world of the Internets my actually care what we have to say. At best these message boards are a fan-club for the over-arching theme of the very message boards that people comment in.

If you really wanted to test this theory; See if anyone has come up missing for leaking top secret information on a message board. Make some outlandish claim, something like, I know where Bin Laden buys his laundry detergent or say you saw Obama cheating with another guy in a limo on 8th street and see if you are visited by law enforcement some time.

Its just a message board, blogs are just blogs...and soon people will realize how foolish Facebook is. No one really cares what 'mood' someone is in, why do people feel compelled to post, 'Right now, I'm sleepy, I should take a nap. Save a kitten group needs your sponcership, click to join'. It's because they know someone may read it and that hope of being noticed or paid attention to is a driving force to the success of such things.

Look at how MSM is using Twitter. Its a marketing tool, so is Facebook and Myspace as well really. You could also consider the success of on-line dating sites along these same lines. People can easily consume the information and move on to the next item waiting to be reviewed, consumed and discarded with ease and convenience. TV viewership suffers because people do not have enough time in their days to watch network shows and keep up with their favorite message boards. I think Internet Addiction has been an issue of concern mentioned in the MSM as of recently too.

It is a brave new world and these message boards are just the latest medium to be used as a method to 'Sell the public' on the latest greatest products and services.

If you understand tthe underlying mindset, you can more easily see the European logic.

They are so used to being left out and left behind in all things "Western," that when they see an American spokesman (remember, 250,000 cheered CANDIDATE BHO at the Brandenburg Gate in 2008) who espouses socialist values, they see a kindred spirit and believe that he will work toward the same pacifist, global sovereign, redistribution of wealth regimes as they have.

With the same ruinous results, of course.

Misery loves company.

Staying on topic, it is about agents of disinformation by the way and not european's political beliefs.

Many atsers have stated that anyone who dissents from the op's fallacious argument is working for the government. This means that you accept the opinion made by the op without any form of evidence. I would like all of you who feel that way to explain to all the other ats members who deny ignorance what validity you found in the op's post outside your own misconceptions about your fellow members.

I would like to say to anyone here who thinks that I am a government operative because I deny ignorance, that I am a US citizen and I do not get paid anything to post, or browse or do anything on the internet. The only reason I am concerned with this topic is because it seems to recieve so much support while the fallibility and irony in it is completely overlooked. Keep in mind I am not denying the possibility that the government does hire disinfo agents, and in fact I would like to see good evidence on the matter if it is true, and I am not supporting a president which many of you seem to so vehemently dislike. I also realize that it may be hard to find evidence on governement agents because any information on it could be classified, but that does not give us a pass to make an unsubstantiated case. I would like all of the people here who gave the op a star and flag because they somehow believed that his argument somehow had any validity to it to explain where in the op is there any evidence to back up any claim.

You don't need anyone else's input; I'll summarize for you.

FTC is actively patrolling for "endorsements" by bloggers.
www.ftc.gov...

DOJ is employing bloggers to counter criticism.
www.doj.gov...

Many of the most vitriolic, illegal(plagiarist), and untruthful recent posts have come from newer members who cannot or refuse to provide sources, cites or links to outlandish, repeated nonsense.

Almost 100% of the conduct described above is directed against threads critical of Obama and his administration.

Nothing new in that tactic; he's been doing it since before the election. Controlling information and media is a common tactic of some types of leaders.

Of course, the many ATS members who are quick to denigrate the OP sources as merely "bloggers" (and therefore un-trustworthy), forget, or willfully ignore the largest volume blogger on the Internet, Barack Obama:

Organizing for America | BarackObama.com | OFA Blog Your browser does not support all of the new features of our new blog. ... to read the Official Obama HQ Blog. National Highlights. Loading Data ...
my.barackobama.com/page/content/hqblog

And, of course, they ignore the fact that DOJ itself brags about its presence (even though they are happy to adopt and spread, DOJ denials!):

A New Day at Justice.gov
doj.gov ^ | October 1, 2009 | By Tracy Russo, DOJ (Blog Squad Czarina)

Welcome to the new Justice.gov. If you’re a regular visitor to our site, you’ll notice some changes today. If you are joining us for the first time, welcome.

The Department of Justice launches Justice.gov today in an effort to increase openness and transparency in government. Utilizing a variety of online tools, we will be able to share news and information, not just on our own web site, but through popular social networks Twitter, YouTube and MySpace and Facebook. The Justice presence on these social networks will allow Americans to interact with the Department in entirely new ways. (Oct.1, 2009)

So, what you gonna believe, your lyin' eyes or what Obama tells you?

Deny ignorance.

LMAO...clearly a disinfo agent, consider yourself listed....

As mentioned previously, the claims of disinfo agents are rife no matter who occupies the White House, and I have never seen any reason to make claim to such agents as it matters very little.

You're ability to argue or make your point clearly and objectively counts for a great deal more than crying disinfo just because you fail to convince those that disagree with you.
