Is anyone on this board really surprised that there was no live feed?

Is anyone actually surprised by this? We can figure out how to bomb the moon but can't figure out how to film it?

NASA is a joke.

Great work with the videos and stills Exuberant - thank you

Now if only we had an explanation...

"There is soooo much water ice that the impactor was simply swallowed up..."

"Damn, we didn't get to them before they were able to get their defensive systems up..."

"Holy crap - the damned thing is hollow!!!..."

"Ooooohhhh, you mean we were supposed to be aiming at OUR moon? Whoops..."

Here's a quick recap of the conference. "blah blah graph charts blah blah"

I did get a couple questions from it though...

What is the sodium flash they were talking about?
The moon has a hydration cycle?????

They guy said... "the streamed video is not the same fidelity as what was actually showed to the public" Can you say... TRYING TO HIDE SOMETHING??

I've seen better footage from a cruise missle closing in on an iraqi's front door. This is ridiculous. NASA and others for that matter, really push the envelope when it comes to testing the intelligence of life on this rock.

Just from initial "eyeballing" erm isnt that LOOKING!

But they have not looked at the data.

EH?

So they eyeballed some data, they didnt look and they need to take a closer look at the the data they collected.

Makes sense.

Just seen a crappy video on the youtube ... Got a control centre/flight centre, on the one side, and then some half baked 3d representation of the impact ... To be quite frank , if they cant remember how to send live pictures from outer space, then I officialy give up on this useless bunch of know nothings I.E. NASA.
How utterly pathetic.

He just said they "dropped 40 images out of thousands. We did great"
Yeah...Great at covering something up.

Now hes describing the images from the data.

Is this guy insane?

This is quite irritating

"were looking for pretty much everything, were going someplace we have never been before"

He just said that!

Yes, it looked more like a LAN party than some sort of mission control. (BOOM HEADS... i mean MOONSHOT).

He just said... "There's a lot more into it than just the water"

Yeah and he mentioned "organic" as a possible source of the water.. Then he realized what he had just said and looked a bit weird.

He just said no plume because they could have hit a slope or BLOCKS.
BLOCKS?? from a monument or other structure???

If anyone is listening to this right now.

This guy is basically saying they had no clue whatsover about what was going to happen and still doesnt even after it has happened.

Why would you fire a weapon at the moon like this given what he is saying?

I have not felt like slapping anyone in years but this man is testing my patience.

I do not think I will be bothering with anything like this in the future if it comes from NASA

What I found interesting was what the guy on the end (who was put there to make the story sound as neato as possible and appeal for future funding) said about the water data they have been "receiving" from Japan and India and something about it suggesting a hydration cycle.

I would expect some sort of big announcement from NASA pretty soon.
In the meantime, they are going to drag this out a bit.
I don't blame them. Obama has threatened to cut their funding a few times now.

They'll have some big news coming, but as the Molly Shannon look-alike chick said, they have to go over the data "and come up with a comprehensible story"...

I also noticed that she viewed that choice of words as a slip-of-tongue. She took a pause, gathered herself and starting using hand gestures for about a solid minute afterwards while trying to rephrase what she had just said. "Tony" even chimed in on that one to clarify.
