I have no idea in the meaning of a "+" sign equaling a "+1". (Guess I'm not looking outside the box on this one.)

From what I understand in the OP:

+ can mean anything.

He said that + can mean +1. This results in recursion. I.E. + = +1 = +11 = +111 = +1111 and so on. That definition doesn't work.

If he meant + to mean that the result is always added by one, then it's like this:

2 + 2 means:

* * AND * * PLUS * EQUALS * * * * * which is five.

Like I said, this is counting.

I do not understand the point of the OP.

If + = +1 then it would be 2 +1 2 =5 but then we would have to add another "+" so that its 2 +1 + 2 =5 but then we need to make it so: 2 +1 +1 2 = 5 in which the cycle of adding a "+" sub by a "+1" would never end therefor no math equation could have an end result because of a loop.

Since Math is suppose to be an Universal language, it is perfectly clear to me now why we are not getting any signals back in trying to find Extraterrestrial life. They don't know what we are saying!!!!:

Ok more defined math system, where if we count something we usually do it in whole numbers, penny's are fractions of a dollar and usually we don't take the time to add them in or count them. They may always take the time to make a more exact amount depending on the variables. This of course is just a theory and has no proof behind it. But I only assume this because of the fact that if you can travel threw space, somewhere down the line you had to take math very seriously.

As for the OP I couldn't care less one way or the other.

Ok will do, I'm just saying our math system is not perfect, we can't even break 1/3 into a decimal without losing a digit along the way.

I tried wrapping my head around grad level mathematics in college. I took classes like abstract algebra class and my head exploded.
