Interesting and puzzling anecdote: Kubrick and Stephen King

Supposedly when Kubrick was filming "The Shining," one night at around 3:00 AM or so he called Stephen King long-distance, out of the blue. A bleary-eyed, woken-up King answered the phone "Yes?" Kubrick replied "Do you believe in God?" King answered "Yes." Kubrick shouted "I KNEW IT!" and slammed down the phone.

I've never known quite what to make of it.
