Two Russian workers held hostage in Iraq for a week were freed today, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported, citing the Russian foreign ministry and
sources in the company that employs the men.
Hundreds of workers for Russian companies were evacuated from Iraq shortly thereafter, but most decided to stay on. Interenergoservis had planned to
fly more workers out today.
Are these re-building contracts now open to all?
Putin opposed the ousting of Saddam.
