I suppose it would be easier to tell if we knew what the shore looked like an hour ago

I believe so. The area has shown this for the past 20 minutes I've watched it.

*edit*
Also, try this webcam. It is located where the impact would be felt if a tsunami were to hit. www.fijiwebcam.com...

Suva has some pretty decent tide changes, normal tide changes.
Right now the tide is dropping.

Nothing to worry about.

Worry when an 8.0 earthquake strikes California to death.

Depending on what you call a tic up, not really. Based on the records from the past 36 years; 1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979..., all show flurries of strong earthquakes.

We are well within the averages for this year.

Phage, you know what I would like to see?
I would like to see you compile a Earth/Sun Prediction thread jotting down your thoughts on what natural disaster/phenomenon you predict to occur over the next 1-3 years.

You are one of the brightest members we have on this forum (possibly because you've been on this rock a lot longer than most of us), and you back everything you say up with hard numbers and science. I would expect nothing different if you were to create such a thread.

I think that most of us on here would be interested in some hard science and numbers regarding historical averages when it comes to big natural "events".

Some things along these lines, which I would be interested in YOUR take on, which immediately come to my mind:

How many giant (8.0+) EQ's do you predict next year?
How many volcanic eruptions do you predict?
How many hurricanes?
How many tsunami's?
How many X-ray solar storms?
How many geomagnetic storms?
Solar maximum predictions?

I think a prediction thread from you, based on historical numbers/records and with a scientific POV would be awesome before we get into 2010.

Just a thought.

I was just watching Nostradamus Effect on the History Channel and they were talking about the predictions of Isaac Newtons The Apocalypse Code. I was reading this thread and they showed a verse from Revelations 16: 18-21 Just thought it was weird is all! These quakes keep getting more powerful and recent.

So you don't have to look it up..

Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found. From the sky huge hailstones of about a hundred pounds each fell upon men. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.

Definitely yes, but I don't think it's very big (by that part of the world's standards). Probably another 5-6 magnitude.
I'm watching these new waves from II.MSVF.BHZ

I respectfully agree,
Something of a compiled data like that would be rather useful.
