Yes I would agree you'd get first hand alerts before us. It just makes it confusing that they don't sync!

Yes he zoomed out,

minutes away hopefully small but as gets shallower.

The shore has not receeded.

Pretty sure the wave you see on the fiji cam is just the normal surf breaking over the reefs there. You can see it when it pans to the right, and zooms in to the area. Seems normal.

That isn't a tsunami, it's small breakers on a shallow reef.

I agree, you can tell the water is a lot shallower out there. There's a reef acting as a natural breakwater for the surf...
