We've been talking about the UFO/Alien doodles that appeared almost consecutively on Google's website. I think it's appropriate to have a thread devoted specifically to the Google Doodles.

Todays Doodle (08OCT09) is a barcode. This appears to be to commemorate the first barcode patent. Has anyone figured out what it says, yet?

I'm not sure if the powers that be here at ATS will let this fly.

Good luck

I'm fairly sure there is a 666 in the configuration.

I want happy about it this morning. This doodle needs it's own catagory but I'm glad you pointed it out today.

Bar code generator:

Google:

It's kind of the same, but the end is kind of different. Idk, it's probably just a different form of bar code.

This is fun! I've decoded the first half of it.

The first four numbers of this sequence are 2012, LOL! Conspiracy!

Will get the rest on here in a minute.

Well, we saw it coming right? It translates to Google.

zxing.org...

Code is:

2112132113131331111331111221132211131122131221132231112

Using code 128, this is the translation:

Google

Nifty, eh? but the upshot is, i learned how to decode a barcode and the differences between character sets. I'm not sure I'll ever need to USE that special power, but it's nice to have it.
