STS-75: The Tether Incident On Sunday, February 25, 1996, the Space Shuttle Columbia deployed an experimental tether into orbit. The experiment was called the Tethered Satellite System (TSS- 1R) and it's purpose of this was to attempt to generate electricity by utilizing Earth's magnetic field. Unfortunately the tether broke so the experiment was not a success, although approximately five hours of data were recorded. What really made "The Tether Incident" famous was the appearance of many unidentified flying objects (UFOs) clearly visible in the NASA footage. Conspiracy theorists rejected NASA's explanation of space debris and ice particles, while conspiracy debunkers pointed out that the UFO theory doesn't stack up. For example, if the UFOs were as big as the conspiracy theorists claim, they would have been clearly visible from the ground. NOTE: The footage above begins with a text title which has been added by someone obviously not from NASA. I do not personally agree with the text, but this is the only version of the footage I have been able to find. The rest of the footage is apparently genuine NASA footage (public domain). Date: February 1996 Credit: Original footage by NASA, additional text title unknown Shuttle Crew: Andrew M. Allen (3), Commander Scott J. Horowitz (1), Pilot Franklin R. Chang-Diaz (5), Payload Commander Maurizio Cheli (1), Mission Specialist (ESA) Jeffrey A. Hoffman (5), Mission Specialist Claude Nicollier (3), Mission Specialist (ESA) Umberto Guidoni (1), Payload Specialist (Italy)

my point.....why this is real..

UFOs ARE SWARMING AROUND tether it is so obvious...

How much would take for people to believe this... i mean COME ON, it is SO obvious UFO incident...

thanx

Oh no, not the tether incident, teh skeptics go nuts over this!

Why couldn't you bump an older thread? Do we really need a separate thread about your conviction that this was an 'obvious UFO incident'?

To me it's obvious that there are out-of-focus particles floating in space, reflecting sunlight. I don't know what they are, but if you ask me, they could well be ice particles. Why should I believe that it is an 'UFO incident' instead? Why do you want to let us know that you believe so with absolute conviction? That's what I'm going nuts over, Haydn_17.

No we don't. It's been debated to death and unless new evidence has come to light, there is absolutely no point!

Another case of the Foos.
What else could any of these be.
The glow is bigger than the craft just as video with two feet on
the ground and the craft 1000 feet up.
Dual beams from a triangle craft goofing around again
and caught in the sky many times:
Foo balls:

Triangle beam in lower atmosphere:

One man Foo, bottom of page:

ED: Ken knows nothing. See Hudson Valley UFOs on youtube
for a giant flying wing UFO going low and slow and plenty of
witnesses.

Well there is a currently very active thread on this with new analysis and it even has participation from Jim Oberg so it's not been debated to death

But I agree... I can't work another thread on this

Considering we've seen that camera anomaly more than once from their cameras, I don't even know why this is debated or discussed at all.

I'm fairly certain a huge ufo flying across a screen at NASA would generate more interest than um.. none at all.

NASA has NEVER released their copy of the tether incident...

Shows what you know

Yes, because it wasn't an "incident," it was another typical day at the office. Which for them, is normal debris, ice particles, and camera reflections, but to the people of this board, are galactic battles, lasers, rockets and donut beings that fly around in the empty vaccuum of space.

Again.. as the large circle flies across their screen, not one person gives a flying rats butt. Because they probably see it every day, and it's not a UFO.

The tether coiled up, how did it become a straight 12 mile long
cable.
The coiled up mess was never seen again.
The video looks successful so why was the experiment called a failure.
Back to the drawing boards was the message on the tether company
web page.

There will always be UFOs in the tether video cause the 'critters' can't lie
and they say energy is all around us just find away to do it.

Get Einstein back to find the missing ether.
They must be ether energy ships.
They set the air aglow.

And they are not spooks, only their owners command the
spook headquarters. Watch out for 'critters'.
