Basically the article says that if Obamacare passed, not much would change in the way of cost.

No doubt some would wind up paying more for insurance under any plan. However, the point of this is not to reduce costs, but to make insurance available to everyone, regardless of income.

The way it is now, many working people simply cannot et *ANY* insurance. At least insurance would be available to these people, if we make some reforms.

The issue of outrageous medical costs is an entirely separate matter that also needs to be addressed. The US is #1 in health care costs, but #50 in health care quality. Most of this is given to Big Pharma, which tries to justify their rapacious prices by claiming they need to spend it on research. This, even though they spend more than twice as much on advertising.

We need to make some changes with Big Pharma, or we'll never get our health care problems straightened out.
