Okay, not that this is surprising but I mostly thought it good for a light hearted laugh on ATS today. Gotta have one of those every once in a while right?

I've been waiting for something like this to surface. I know we have our share of "Bash Glenn Beck" threads, but, hey, the guy really does it to himself. I just feel sorry for the folks who buy into his BS and say "oh that dear man, he loves our country so much he's bearing his soul on TV right in front of us all." What else is he in sincere about? So, without further ado...

Leaked video: Glenn Beck ‘uses Vicks to cry on cue’

A video posted to YouTube a few weeks ago making the rounds across the internet apparently shows Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck having Vicks applied under his eyes in order to cry on cue for a photo shoot.

That is hilarious and disgusting at the same time.
Why ANYONE with a functioning brain cannot see this idot for what he is , is beyond me!
Good Ol' Glenn, former DJ, drug and alcohol enthusiast longed for the big time of talk radio and the salary that comes with it. Converts from his sinful ways, becomes a fanatical Morman, the proceeds to dupe the gullible as a new career. He's a liar, a fraud, and one of the most self serving fools on FOX, and THAT is quite an accomplishment.

So, for a photoshoot did you want someone to slug 'im in the stomach so that he could cry? Photoshoot does not equate to, "he's doing this right now so that later on TV he can fake cry and deceive people."

Is the next video going to be about how pro-wrestlers use stage blood to bleed?

Its sad because people who listen to him will defend this fraud the end. This must only be because the man is incapable of human emotions.

In before someone justifies this =)

Oh good grief, lighten up. I'm sorry that me making fun of Glenn Beck has got you all defensive. Don't take it personally.

Edit to add:

This is from the same article:

Of course, using Vicks to cry during a staged photo shot wouldn’t be the same as using it to produce tears on television about how the country “is turning Socialist.” So, until another tape surfaces showing Beck getting the Vicks treatment before a rant on Fox, it would be premature to speculate that he only emits fugazi tears.

Also, you shouldn't put into quotes a statement that was not made on this thread or even in the linked source. It's misleading.

Look I know it was a photo shoot, but People need to see this. How many serious photos were taken of that? How many serious jokes are going to be pawned off on the US American People as a "for real" photo.

I think this lends credence to beck doing this a lot. I believe I heard him saying something about getting used to vicks.

The point I'm making is the dude is shill from the word "Go". Definitely listen, and learn what You will, but remember his origins. He is a shill.

In any information I am one of the quickest to say listen; take what You will, and leave the rest.

I do listen to beck, and actually take it all. Why? Well a good subversion campaign is always filled with a great deal of truth, and then a minority of lies.

So what do I learn? I do find some points of truth, but more importantly I have learned to "Spot'em"/disinformation goons better. I've learned to see between the lines at the message they would like You to believe.

They must give some truth, as that is the avenue into the brain for massive amounts of subversion.

No, I really don't care that you attempted to make fun of Glenn Beck. What is wrong, is that you made it seem like he was making himself cry in order to, in someway, deceive people.

I read the headline and it flashed through my head Beck was using Michael Vicks to make him cry - maybe a vicious pit bull under the desk gnawing at... well never mind.

I didn't quote anything, let alone a statement. If I was going to quote something, I would use the "quote" tag.

At anyrate, here is what you said that I was referring to in my "quote":

I just feel sorry for the folks who buy into his BS and say "oh that dear man, he loves our country so much he's bearing his soul on TV right in front of us all." What else is he in sincere about? So, without further ado...

Please show us one of Beck's facial expressions in that "photo shoot" that was meant to be taken seriously?

Those had to be the most silly facial expressions I've seen in a while, and if anyone takes any of them seriously... They need help!

Seriously.

Silly

That was pretty funny.

I don't watch Beck very much. Has he ever cried on the show and not for a photo shoot?

Has he ever cried on the show...

I don't know about his TV show, but he has cried on his radio show; I'm pretty sure.

You put a statement that wasn't anything close to what I said in quotation marks. I didn't say this was before him going on TV. I said I feel sorry for people that buy his BS. I also said I wonder what else he's insincere about.

I knew this was a photo shoot. But this video lends credence to thoughts I've already have of him faking it. And that's what I meant when I said "I wonder what else he's insincere about?". I should have made that more clear in what I said but it wasn't anything close to:

"he's doing this right now so that later on TV he can fake cry and deceive people."

Forgive me if I'm wrong but usually when people use quotation marks they allude to it being a quote of something someone said. Not only did I not say that, I didn't even suggest it.

I think you guys are kinda grasping at straws here... I know you're not crazy about him but I've done the same thing in photography classes to get my subjects to cry... there's no conspiracy here... =/

It was from a photoshoot for a book... the same photoshoot that Time STOLE the tongue sticking out picture for their cover this month.

Totally agree with you!

This is disinformation put out by Glen Beck himself in order to make his crybaby persona appear to be an act! Media manipulation at it's finest!

But again, this is overly getting-into-personalities (though only by implication).
Currently we lack the technology for easy-home-mindreading of public figures on TV. So, since we can't really judge sincerity, too much... and plus people can be very sincere and very inaccurate, yes yes...why don't we just try to judge the content of his statements for accuracy, and not determine his sincerity, the state of his soul as a hireling, or whether he was taught conservatism by some fiend using a false Hungarian phrasebook...like maybe, if what he says is wrong, it doesn't make it more correct no matter what his motives are for saying such...right?...and then, if he is a phony, a shill, a careerist conformist, a brain-damage victim et cetera...none of that prevents any individual statement he makes from being factually correct...hello?
We should quit trying to look for good people, and just assume everybody is bad, and carefully examine the truth of their utterances...don't you think...that seems like a better project to me...

Oh_my_God! And people are thinking that's sincere??? I have never seen anything so fake in my life.
What a joke this man is. He's right up there with the sleaziest televangelists, as far as I'm concerned. What I don't understand is his flock. But then again, I never understood why people believed Jimmy Swaggart and Ted Haggard either.
