I did. Stayed off the pain pills last night, got a big blanket and snuggled with the wife and the youngest. It was a joy just to have some of the most important people in my life with me.

Sometimes the smallest things can be the biggest treasures.

I am not a praying person but you were in my thoughs last night.

I had the word 'NO' in my mind all of yesterday as you were waiting. It must have affected the outcome of your condition but it sure as hell did'nt have any influence over the outcome of Ireland's Lisbon Treaty vote.

Anyway, I hope the light gets brighter from this point on!!

You're right my friend, it is.

Has this changed me? I don't think so. Have your posts affected me?

Definitely. If anything, I am just a bit more humbled than I was before. Slower to sarcasm, slower to criticize. I still have a fight ahead of me. But it's a fight I can win.
With the possibility of my dream job (yahoo, Alaska) and my family by my side, can't lose.

Maybe it was God, or the gods, who felt that I needed to be humbled a bit. Maybe they just wanted to remind me that life is fracking short. And priorities need to be redefined.

This tells me that I have much more to do in this life. Important things. Big things. Be they, hugging my little one more, to giving more to people that have less than I.

Don't expect too many changes, though. I'll still be snarky. Still be as acerbic. "Foe" me, "friend" me, love me, hate me, I will still have my opinions.

But know that there will always be a smile on my face when I talk to any of you. Because I now know, that as tough as you may sound, all of you are just as caring and compassionate as the rest.
Call yourselves republicans, democrats, liberals, believers, truthers, birthers, or just plain silly.

You all still believe in the same core values that we all hold close to our hearts.

Man, that's the fastest I EVER read through a thread, finding the good news on Page 6. very glad it's not pancreatic cancer!!

I wish you and family the very best, and I feel strongly you'll kick Crohne's adz the same way you have anything else. Having lived in both northern Utah and Anchorage area, I can tell you that I'm somewhat envious ...... what a grand adventure!! Soon, you'll be able to get REAL beer and not just in one place either.

P.S. I couldn't leave your flag count at 66...... not in these times!

It's not pancreatic cancer.

-whew-

It's Crohns Disease.

Have to look it up, and find out more. Meeting with specialists on monday and tuesday for further tests, treatment options and a chat with the surgeon.

But it looks like I'm going to be around longer. Maybe ATS helped! Next time, pray harder, dammit! I didn't want Crohns either.

I admire your outlook and attitude. It's funny you should mention this because I have been having revelations lately - This one not really profound or anything I thought I'd share:

The Human Process could not survive without death being a part of the "life" experience for many reasons. The most obvious is the question of where would we put everyone. if you were to take everyone and everything that was ever born or grown and if that entity didn't go thru the experience we call death it would only be a matter of time before there would be no more rooom, food or natural resourses to go around unless technology were to advance a a rate such that we acquired a way to travel to the stars.

Which under the current administration even if we do have will not be released to the general public unless we have a major revolution!

Thank you for your reply. Death is inevitable. But the human spirit fights. Fights from the first breathe to the last. Maybe that's what makes us different from others.

I'm just glad I have the oppourtunity to breathe a little longer, to fight just one more time, if required.

I think your attitude to the situation is commendable and something like how I imagine I would be faced with a similar situation.

Im sorry for your situation- I lost my mother to pancriatic cancer and I have to say that one of the few comforts was the way she lived right up to the end. Im sure your bravery is doing the same for your family. You are a strong person and I will be praying for you. If you dont beleive then just consider it a good thought from me to you. I dont want to go on but I wish you success in what ever form it comes.

If you are able too, start taking vitamin c and e. try to find a health food store that sells thymic extract vitamins.

Vitamin c will help build up the immune system. vitamin e will increase h202(hydrogen peroxide) levels within the body that will also help healing. and thymic extract will increase the white blood cell count that will boost the immune system and also give you an extra enegry boost.

Be sure you check out natural remedies before you give up. There is Vit. B17 for cancer and a lot of remedies for other things. Good food and the right natural herbs cure a lot of the things that doctors are trained to medicate with drugs and toxins. Our medical industry has been going down the wrong road for a long time. It's too bad so many people don't realize that they don't have to die of cancer, or pay $99,000 for chemotherapy. Doctors who have other opinions are run out of business and discredited by the thugs that run the medical industry.

Right on. I don't know much about natural remedies. I wish I had paid more attention when my sister was pushing this kind of info at me. She studied it a lot and I wish I had also. There is so much the medical industry has put over on us in the way of "acceptable medical practice" that is a lot of bull. It is every persons responsibility to learn about natural medicine.

I ran across your thread yesterday when I came home for lunch. The first thing I thought of when you were talking abdominal issues was Crohns. Not a great diagnosis, but certainly better than cancer.
