Sorry I'm late God, got held up in town.

Growing up, my dad kept a framed cartoon on his office wall. It was an old Sunday comic strip from a newspaper. It showed a cowboy riding his horse out of town. All the other town-folk were walking the other direction making comments that he was leaving when they were all going to church.

The last frame was three times the size of the others.
It showed the cowboy, with his hat off, looking at a sun rise over the mountains.

The caption underneath?

"Sorry I'm late God, got held up in town."

That just did it for me and religion.

Just wanted to share.

I had to wait in this professors office while my sister took an exam. I saw this comic strip on the wall and I thought it was so profound. I remember it to this day. Wish I could find the comic strip. My sentiment about religion as well. Thanks for sharing.
