I can't really say that I'm surprised. Everyone knows Israel has nuclear weapons.

I've actually driven by this facility... its no secret... seriously, everyone knows what it is and the US allows it... speaks more for the US than Israel. What country wouldn't want nuclear technology?

Yes we know that they have nuclear weapons .

The problem lies with Israel being Hippocrates against Iran when at least Iran joined the Non-Proliferation Treaty .

Israel hid there nuclear research from the western world in the 80s.
as quoted on page 1

At least Iran has publicly declared it has a new uranium enrichment facility. And it will allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect it. Israel, though, has yet to make such announcements or gesture. For decades Israel has refused to confirm the now well-documented fact that it has a significant arsenal of nuclear warheads — the only country in the Middle East known to have successfully developed such a program. Estimates suggest it has as many as 200 warheads, putting every Arab state within range of a nuclear strike.

what is good for the goose should be good for the gander .

You have a country started by criminals ( the Stern Gang ) , run by criminals , that openly state they answer to no-one, least of all the U.N. All the while using some "Gods promise" to murder people and steal land. Or even worse using what happened in Europe as some form of sick justification to perforn genicide of another people.

And people feel comfortable with them having nukes

They are nothing but religious fanatics clearly with no boundries of right and wrong. No different than any other religious fanatics if you ask me, Oh except Americans support what they do.

PLEASE EVERYBODY STAR AND FLAG THIS THREAD!

This is a really important issue that needs attention before the US leads us into another needless war!

Israel not being a signatory to the NPT means it really doesn't have any restrictions on what it can do with nuclear technology. Is that morally right? Maybe not, but it's not technically a violation of law/treaty.

Quite true. They can't possibly be in breach of a treaty they haven't signed up to in the first place which is just as well as they had no intention of staying within it in the first place.

I notice you keep saying At least Iran has publicly declared it has a new uranium enrichment facility, but you keep forgeting to mention that they did it due to knowing it was about to be released by the media anyways, I think you forgot that part.

Israel's nuclear facility in Dimona is no secret. In fact there's another nuclear facility on the Mediterranean coast, near Ashdod.

It's not supposed to be a secret, however government would always deny the existence of such weapons.
Israel wants the Arab nations such as Iran to know they have enough fire-power to blow the entire middle-east till kingdom come.

Sadly, now they're trying to drag us to another war, now with Iran.
And I think George Green is right on the money here when he says that "They" are trying to start a war in the middle east to fulfill the Armageddon war from the bible.

Just yesterday there was an air-raid-type sirens drill all over Israel, there was another drill just a while ago to prepare for a missile strike.

The evidence keeps piling up: Netanyahu visit to Russia, Obama removing missiles from eastern Europe, the UN fiasco...

It looks like the poo's gonna hit the fan. I surly hope not.

Yes we know that.
It is the secret under ground levels below the installation that is alarming

Netanyahu thinks he's Menahem Begin.
I'm sure the plan to strike Iran is a reality for years and years.
That's why the whole "Cast Lead" fiasco in Gaza was all about. So that the people of Israel would elect and extreme-right govt. And now the power-hour is here, and everything is in place for the war they are planning for years.

Isarel is being napalmed with propaganda every day about Iran. They're inducing fear and terror like always and they've done a very good job.

The question is not that Israel has a hidden nuclear factory but where did they get the uranium to build there weapons,
They have no uranium mines. so why did the western governments give them the uranium.

They ether got enough enriched weapons grade uranium to build there bombs a few hundred pounds.

Or they got around 200 tons of non weapons grade uranium and processed it themselves.
Ether one you could not do without help of western governments.

If the above is not true then they must be great poker players.
because everyone of there enemy's believe they have a stockpile of more than 100 to 200 nuclear weapons.

The problem is to prove that Israel has any nuclear weapons,
they have never claimed to have a nuclear weapon.
They have only made the statement that "We do have the capacity to "produce" nuclear weapons,"
But japan also has the capacity to make nuclear weapons.
If japan wanted to they could build a nuke within 60 to 90 days. They have the people, the uranium, and the skill to enrich it,
I believe if North Korean attacked japan they would build one quickly and they could build a hydrogen device just as easy as a fission bomb.
en.wikipedia.org...

Israel has never tested a weapon that anyone can prove.
The test in the ocean off South Africa with South Africa's help that has never been proven only makes it ambiguous because that means South Africa also has/had nukes.
And where are they. When South Africa changed governments did South Africa give there bombs to Isreal.

or did South Africa and Israel take a old ship and fill it with 2000 to 3000 tons of explosives and sink it and set it off to fool everyone.

Defense by bluff is great if it works. and for all we know this is what Isreal is doing.
What enemy of Israel wants to find out if it is a bluff or not.
"U.S. nuclear specialists inspected Dimona every year from 1965 through 1969, looking for signs of nuclear weapon production."
www.wisconsinproject.org...
The US might know that the Israelis do not have nuclear weapons and for there own reasons are backing there bluff so that no Arab country would think of attacking Israel forcing the US into a war to protect Israel.

Key Iran nuclear talks under way

World powers have begun talks on Iran's controversial nuclear programme, days after it was accused of secretly opening a second uranium plant.

Iranian representatives are meeting the five permanent Security Council seat holders - UK, China, France, Russia and the US - plus Germany, in Geneva.

Ahead of the one-day talks, Germany said Iran was "failing to co-operate".

The head of the UN nuclear watchdog has accused Iran of being "on wrong side of the law" in hiding the uranium plant.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

news.bbc.co.uk...

There is over 192 some say 195 countries in the world. And the Main stream media follows the Powers in the world arena to their every word.

Powers in the world arena they may be.

How about a vote or thoughts from the remaining 189 countries that
live in this world they want to create Chaos in.

Yes some if not many may will follow in their footsteps through being gullible and or ass lickers .

I hope common scene can win this dispute.

We are living in a world full of hard times at the moment, and we all as a whole have felt the struggle one way or another over the last year.

The last thing we all need is unnecessary conflict ,especially when the main reason for this is to line the coffers of the greedy.

Thanks

Yes, Israel has nukes. We know. They've had them for like half a century now.

Israel hasn't however ever announced in the General Assembly of the UN that they are looking to take over the World as the only true governors.

So while you might want to try and compare it to Iran it isn't comparable.

[edit on 2009/9/30 by Aeons]

Can you point me in the direction where I may find that statement from Iran? That they are looking to take over the world as the only true governors?

I thought Iran just wanted to get rid of Israel?

IF Israel has nuclear weapons (this is not proved, anywhere) they have had plenty of opportunities to use them and have not.

On Yom Kippur in 1973, the holiest day of the year, Egypt, Syria and Iraq launched a surprise attack and attempted to invade Israel.

Had it not been for a last minute resupply from the US Israel would have lost that war and Israel would be no more. I'm sure some people on this thread would cream their pants at that prospect, but not me.

Israel didn't use nukes then, or even threaten to use nukes. In my book that makes them quite responsible.

I trust elected an elected, responsible Israeli government with nukes. I don't trust raving anti-Western theocrats and their loud mouthed puppet president with nukes.

Starred and flagged. Its all well and dandy to pick on Iran, but its time we took care of the real threat in the Middle East first. The Samson Option is a barbaric thing to contemplate, and what Israel did to Vanunu is disgusting and an admission of guilt in and of itself.

Thankfully, after 20 years they have finally been reprimanded in the UN. While that means absolutely nothing in reality, it is still a step towards having the mad dog that is Israel disarmed.

Just thought I'd throw this out there. To everyone that follows this thread, would you be more scared of being attacked by Israel, or being under the threat of a nuclear weapon attack by iran.??? Nuclear weapons in the hands of a madman, or nuclear weapons in the hands of a country that just wants to exist.??
I don't like nukes being around any more than the next guy, but nukes in the hands of certifiable nut jobs is scary.

I'm not worried about Israel attacking me, however, I am worried about state supported terrorism, with the ultimate stated goal of wiping a country off the face of the earth. No one is without guilt, but start worrying about someone who really needs watching, not someone that just wants to exist.

Hi
Good response
and it has been mentioned in this thread many times about Israel saying they are responsible, more so than their neighbor.

Yes just like two violent dogs If you get on the good side with one and give him some food he will sit for you .the other may be harder to control due to the way he has been treated in the past .It will take a bit more time to get to know him and gain his trust....

Thanks

Tell your responsibility story to the dispossessed Palestinians who are victims of Zionist colonization.

And in the end, Iran doesn't use nukes or threaten to use them either. Therefore by your reasoning they too are responsible.

I was waiting for you to pop up and make another non sequitur for the Israeli cause. I'm glad you didn't let us down.

I see these Zionist supporters taking misconstrued statements for all they are worth against Iran. But I see the real deeds of bulldozers, concrete walls, children being murdered who stray too close to those walls, and sieges being employed by the Israelis. This reality alone makes hypocrits out of them and even worse things in extreme cases as other members here have pointed out.

Taking past history into account the evidence shows that Iran is more trustworthy than Israel to handle nukes. This is the reality of the historical evidence, not some wishy washy poppycock to be passed off as just cause for deception and noncooperation with the U.N..
