I appreciate you outreach but like i said I'm doing fine. I simple posted a comment that semi proves people do commit suicide on boredom alone. That is not in anyway condoning or giving anybody an ok to kill themselves.
Once again thank you for you outreach and deleting that comment you made

In my opinion our wording here is mistaken.
It is not boredom that we are examining- it is a sense of meaninglessness.

When life seems void of meaning, that is where this lack of motivation or desire to live arises.

"How to find meaning in life" is a constructive and helpful topic.

Until we release suicide from the societal/religious stigma and taboo that blinds us from remotely understanding why some would choose to no longer be here, this self-centered, self-serving view of it will keep us perpetually in fear of it.

We're supposed to deny ignorance here, and all I see when this topic comes up is knee-jerk reactions, and fear. Fingers in ears singing la la la, I can't hear you. Get out of your societal indoctrination and religious dogma, and look at the world you live in. Read the damn topics on the site you're a member of. Gee, I can't imagine why some people might choose to opt out for no other reason than being weary of the game of life. We live in a fkd up civilization. Face it folks, we have a LOT of problems, and those problems aren't limited to 3rd world countries with starving and homeless people, that shouldn't even exist in a civilization with the technology we have.

Don't fkn tell me I have no right, I'm selfish, I'm an idiot, blah blah blah until you've been in my psyche, or someone elses who has contemplated checking out for their own reasons. Ye hypocrites! The moment you're in a position of wanting to die, it will be just fine, and everyone else can go to hell if they don't like it. I've seen you people change your mind in an instant when the shoe is on the other foot.

I personally have no plans to leave this world by my own hand, but I certainly can understand those who do feel that way. Been there.

Whatever, I could go on for pages. /Rant.

No.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Maybe when we have autonomous machines to do the cleanup after we splatter our brains all over a wall it will be more like ok.

But No.

Boredom is not a good reason. The real question is, do we need a good reason to commit suicide? Many people don't have a good reason to use freedom of speech, but that doesn't stop them. Or a good reason to get plastered. Or to spend all their savings at the casino. One of todays luxuries is that we no longer need a "good" reason for most of the stuff we do.

Exactly. Who gets to decide what a good reason is? Me? You? The gubermint? A psychologist? If I don't want to be here any longer, that's reason enough.
