The only problem we have here, is that you have made the mistake of posting your prediction on ATS... this means that with 1000000% certainty the event wont happen!

things that are predicted on ats never happen! dont ask why, sods law is my guess!

the good thing is, your prediction may have saved lifes in a very strange and improbable way... the universe is very weird like that!

Thank you ,

I really have to emphasize that i have no idea of what i am doing and i am sure real science would get a good laugh out of this thread....

It's just a matter of pattern recognition, and right now i see a pattern where the Eurasian plate is heading east. With the pacific plate getting a bit of room to stretch since that Chile quake. Along the Mid-Atlantic ocean ridge there is some new activity and the plate pressure is heading east....

So i guess that it would be logic that south-east side of the Eurasian plate will see some action in the next few days...

Yeah, yeah, i know...that region has about 10 to 20 earthquakes a day but i am talking specifically about the Sumatra region..

My guess....

Ok, why not, I'll jump in here, and say....ummm.... how about a 7.5 mag in Bismarck, ND. on the 13th, of March 2010

From 1975-1995, there were only four U.S. states that did not have any earthquakes: Florida, Iowa, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.

*and if that happens, we'll really know for sure the jig is up, eh???

OK:

6.0 2010/03/11 LIBERTADOR O'HIGGINS, CHILE
6.7 2010/03/11 LIBERTADOR O'HIGGINS, CHILE
6.9 2010/03/11 LIBERTADOR O HIGGINS, CHILE

HURRY! You can still "predict" these!

Or, did you intentionally ignore the "pattern" to be "recognized?"

Come on man, i didn't ask you to read this thread. If it bothers you so much.....why read it?

I read it to see just how far people on ATS are willing to go or ignore the facts to "see" what they want to see.

You've done an excellent job, and I commend you for it. Not as a "forecaster," mind you; rather as a "Pied Piper," and typical charlatan.

You can depend that 99% of the readers will not check your facts, but will bend their own rules, if they have any, to see an amazing experience.

Sadly, during the "show," you have COMPLETELY missed the Haiti, Chile (Concepcion), Turkey, China, and Chile (Valparaiso) quakes.

Let's review:

9/29/09:

“So the official prediction would be:
Big quake, somewere between the 1ste and the 90th parallel. Magnitute >7.0, within the timeframe of 2-5 October 2009.....”

This was the first and only necessary tip-off that this is a running joke.
( for those who don’t know, the “90th parallel” is the Earth’s pole (N or S), and the “1st parallel” is 1 degree from the equator, N or S.)
FAIL

9/29/09 (follow up):

“Charts are no good anymore but since the recent Sumatra quake i'm still convinced that south america is next in line with a M6.0 or bigger and then on to the north-americam westcoast......

(2-5 oct.) a >7 earthquake will hit somewere along the westcoast of North America......”

FAIL

10/28/09

“So i guess we will be seeing some action around the weekend (Fri 10-30-2009 to Sun 11-01-2009)..
As for the location, well the Indonesian region would be an easy one so i'm gonna go with the westcoast of south America or the Mexican region...
Magnitute should be above 7.5.......”

FAIL

12/26/09

“Any bets on a big one hitting within the next few days?
USGS is below 150 and with the second full moon this month coming up on the 31th and with the previous month being very quiet, i'd say this might be a fairly large one.
I am gonna go with Asia's east coast but America's west coast is also still high on my list.”

FAIL

1/04/10

“Oh, i forgot...
If this "cycle" will bring us an other big shake then i think the Mid atlantic ridge is due for an overhaul on the 40th parallel north, around 30 degrees west....
Could be a very interesting one!!”

FAIL

1/27/10

“Let's see how this works out....
9 degrees south, 92 degrees west. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 12:00:00 UTC. Magnitude 7,3
Or....
9 degrees north, 82 degrees east. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 12:00:00 UTC. Magnitude 7,3”

FAIL

1/27/10

“I am forced to reset the original timeframe from 12:00 today to...
Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 20:35:00 UTC, magnitude 7.1
Locations remains the same.....”

FAIL

1/30/10

“Indeed the lunar perigee has proven in the past to be a good indicator. Full moon up on the 30th so expecting to see some "firework" between....2de and 5th of Februari?
Yellowstone seems like a good place with all the activity going on in South America but keep an eye on that Cocosplate!!”

FAIL

2/3/10

(quoting an unnamed/ uncredited outside source)
“Oh well, let's continue.....
Magnitude >7.0
Wednesday, February 03, 2010 at 21:45:26 UTC
Location 5.000°S, 105.000°W
Or
Location 10.000°N, 60.000°S”

FAIL

3/4/10

“Let's give this one more try...
Magnitude >8.0
Location 54°N, 164°W
Sunday, March 07, 2010 at 09:55:39 UTC
Here's a long shot but i think that with the pattern of earthquakes, after the 8.8 chile quake, moving upwards along the North American plate we are in for an other major quake in the Aleutian Islands region.”

FAIL

Yet so many on ATS are gullible enough to connect the dots they want to see, and you are so gladly willing to accept it.

The truth of what you are trying to accomplish is admitted:

Actually this thread was a respons to those webbot enthousiasts and their "predictive" capabilities. Just wanted to show it had nothing to do with precognition but rather good observational skills.

What you've "observed," no doubt, is that ATS members will accept anything as "proof!"

I hope you continue to have a good laugh. I am. It really is amazing. Really.

A NPR report today discussed the clustering of quakes following a large temblor.
Do Big Quakes Increase Global Seismic Activity?

The story cites USGS records that the Earth experiences an average of 150 mag. 6.0+ quakes every year; more than 1 every three days.

Now, there's a "pattern" worthy of "recognition!"

deny ignorance

Especially for you jdub297 I have decided to not let this thread die a silent death...
( I am sorry, i can't resist. Plus i can't get enough of your contribution)

Anyway, indicator-quakes are up. Expecting some (significant) activity in the next 6-8 hours for the Californian coastline. Let's say +6.0 magnitude (that would be significant, right??)

Let 'r rip jdub!!
