Any RATS question is responded to a cop out answer. Heres about all ther is to findo you have a problem with R.A.T.S existence?
I was reading another thread about a member who had spent points on R.A.T.S. and couldn't find their way in.
This thread made me think of a few slightly unsettling things, so here is a copy/paste of what i posted in that thread.
"Its would seem that ATS is not unlike any other organisation or website in that it has a seperate elitist group who get special treatment.
In this case the elitist group are those who have the requisite points to enter the Really Above Top Secret area.
The trouble with the system in use to gain access to the R.A.T.S section is that it is open to absue, seclusion, and in a way discrimination.
Now i do not have any proof of this and it is therfore it is just an idea/suggestion of one possible situation.
For example there may be a member who is on the verge of having the requisite points for R.A.T.S. something like 4995, but due to perhaps a moderator
or one of the elitist members of the R.A.T.S. section has a problem with this person their points get docked for some trivial or made up reason
thereby stopping their entry into the R.A.T.S. area.
This is just one way that the need of a set number of points to enter the R.A.T.S section may be abused and used to keep certain people out of the
elite forums.
Again i say this is just a possibility and i have no proof, it is just an idea."
Does anyone have an opinion on this? both those who are part of R.A.T.S. and those who arn't scared of posting their true opinions incase they suffer
some kind of discrimination in the future, i say this because i realise that some people are a little wary of posting antything that may annoy the
wrong people and that they could suffer points or otherwise because of that.
See if THIS gets deleted too !

Dude, two podcasts and you have enough points for RATS.
It's not that big of a deal really. All RATS is, is a place members can post where Google and other search engines can't locate it and people that
aren't members can't read it.
It's not that super secret. What is discussed there isn't all that enlightening.

Oh man, it seems a combination of absence of accurate info and over thinking has gotten the best of you.
As whatukno mentioned there's nothing that special about having access to RATS ... in fact it is extremely slow these days, I just looked and
there have been all of seven posts in there in the last week.
However it would be great if you or anyone got access as it would surely inject new energy into the RATS forum. The easiest way to do that is to sign
up on twitter and U2U your username to supermod asala. She will give you 5000 points which you can use to buy access, and no podcasts needed.

I'm not scared to say that I have no freaking idea. It's a conspiracy board and thus it seems reasonable to have members contrive conspiracies about
the board itself.
I could at this point go into RATS and check it out but I feel undermotivated anyway. The rumor is that it is not really a big deal but perhaps
that's just what members of secret societies always say. My only gripe is that you have to keep paying membership dues. Maybe it's to maintain the
charity work. LOL.
Once you're in RATS you can never truely leave. If you give out the secrets you will be gang stalked for life and shunned from acquiring anything in
society!
Best to steer clear my friend unless you're ready to make the commitment.

Exactly what I was going to say. It's ridiculously easy to muster up 5,000 points, and you can spend it before a moderator can find a reason to
"prevent" a person from getting in but deducting points. (Which is an absurd idea on its own.)
Any person who bought their access to RATS would laugh at the idea of it being "elitist".
Perhaps you should do a quick PODCast or two to gather the points, look into the whole RATS forum, and then report back to this thread? It's out in
the open now, so no one would be able to prevent you, because it will raise a lot of questions if you were prevented... (But then again the next
person that doesn't have access will say "Scooterstrats has been selected as an elitist, so we can't take his word for it.")
Best everyone check it out for themselves.

See this thread
Secret forum questions
I don't know if you still get points for joining Twitter?
The best way to get points is start some great threads!
But don't feel you are missing out by not joining RATS, it is not normally that active.

And don't forget about the running talent contest. You can win up to 25,000 points.
That's access to RATS for about 8 years.

Anyone who visits ATS and keeps within the T&C will eventually gather enough points to get into RATS
Anyone who can't get in there either hasn't done enough, or - for whatever reason - cannot follow the simple concept that ATS is a board that has
Terms and Conditions it expects its members to stick to in order to ensure that the board stays civil and doesn't turn into the the comments section
of Youtube.
Those aren't difficult concepts to grasp.
As for your rather insulting insinuations, posts get removed because they violate the Terms
and Conditions of the site, and that is the ONLY reason they are removed.
Urinating on the carpet of the place you are visiting is not considered polite behaviour in most areas of society.
I suggest you read the T&C and abide by it in the manner that 99% of the people who visit here do. That way your post/points tally will grow.

Actually, if you had access to RATS you would by now know how to use them for bills and chapeaus ... yes that's what we call them in there.

And when the mods abide by T&C consistently across the boards, perhaps others will too.And as Im expected to use the "alert" function to bring
points to a mod attention, please be respectful and not pee on this thread to bring innocuous perceived insults to my attention, use the proper
protocol. I suggest that you read the T&C, get familiar with it. There is nothing in this thread that contradicts it. Grow some skin. Remember, above
all else T&C ! Sorry your feelings are hurt.

There are many old threads on here about what is in RATS.

(look at this thread here, it has a screenshot of the threads in RATS, even though it's an old one) Thanks to netchicken for posting this.

I personally have to admit that I have been slack. I have fallen behind on my monthly maintenance and I believe it's been some time since I last
peeked into RATS. The rest of ATS really is a lot more active than RATS is.

Oh ok, I misunderstood, I thought this was a simple question about RATS ... turns out you just want to vent.
But to address something from your OP:
For example there may be a member who is on the verge of having the requisite points for R.A.T.S. something like 4995, but due to perhaps a

Just so you know the point system doesn't work that way. You can actually spend more points than you have and it will show as negative points on
your profile. I don't think you can do 5000 but without knowing the precise ratio 3000 or so points would probably be enough to buy into RATS.
But like we've all told you, you're going to kick yourself for making such a big deal about it should you ever chose to get into RATS.

Well, there is a rumor circulating that ATS points are in fact the de facto world currency. All this talk about establishing one is just that, talk.
We already have it. They just need to start minting coins with the Three Amigos' portraits. I hear it won't be long.
