War is hell. Violence is hell. There is nothing glorious about killing another human being, no matter how many war movies you watch. Take a look at
the Viet Nam vets on the street. Take a look at the Iraq and Afghanistan vets on the street. Do you think they feel that their time was glorious over
there? No, war is hell.
Do we need a revolution? Yes, I'd say we need some drastic changes.
Is killing the way? No. Killing is never the way, unless you are protecting your own life as self defense. Is your own life in danger? Not that I can
see right now.
a peaceful movement (think Ghandi or Martin Luther King) will work just as well?

I agree was is hell. As far as the Vietnam, I have several family members that served and are more than willing to Fight For The Constitution of Our
Country.
Military oath at the time of Viet Nam:
I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and
domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of
evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
Current Military Oath:
I, [name], do solemly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State
(Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___ against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I
will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___, that I make this
obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the Office of
[grade] in the Army/Air National Guard of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___ upon which I am about to enter, so help me God.
Interesting change huh?
On January 30, 1948, (as an aside, that was a whole different era) Gandhi was walking toward his evening prayer meeting in front of a congregation of
about five hundred people when he was approached by a Hindu extremist named Nathuram Godse. Gandhi put his palms together in a traditional gesture of
greeting. Godse pulled out a pistol and shot three bullets into Gandhi's chest at point-blank range.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated by a man with the name James Earl Ray, who shot him with a rifle. Dr. King was shot on April 4, 1968 on
the balcony of his motel room in Memphis, Tennessee.
