Okay, I've been back to watching, my 'role model' Michio Kaku.

And he supposed the question theoretically upon manhattenese'. lol.

That if there was an elixer, that promised them the ability to live forever blah blah blah.

I blah for a reason.

I wonder, sadly at that, (for the sake it would never happen
).

If there was an elixer, and you, you ONLY as a person were given the option of drinking, and this would grant your body, the inability to have harm done to it, no matter how many cigs you smoke, or however many buildings you jump off of to no harm! and NO pain!

Now the apocalypse will happen, and we'll all be destroyed, but you would survive due to the elixer!

Great!

But it may take 10's of thousands of years, for a chance of something near animal like for you to take comfort in, and then later on maybe 100,000s of years later, till a new human like species came about, if that!

Would you take the elixer, even if it all fell away, and waited all this way! You can build write and do whatever, live life as a vampire, without humans!

But I do allow, something in the hypothetical question, something that would help to ease the minds of the questioners.

At any time, that you wish to end your immortality, you can abruptly die, at no cost or pain, a word or whatever you have chosen, to end your immortality.

Now you may never have to die, you can brush through or off of stars, going through this type of life! Hypothetically of course!

As for me, I may 'ignorantly' say that I'd stay for 'millions' of years in this state of no pain, no morality.

Just to see the end, or embark upon another, advanced civilization, if the earth does meet an awkward ending.

What say you ats?

Keep steadfast to the set and mandated life sentence, or if given the option, choose immortality by your own set of rules, which ends whenever you see fit.

Ends, as in NO AFTERLIFE.

The above line is for those who watch gilmore girls religiously!

Presuming NO god in this play.

The elixer, is real, and has no side effects, everything is perfect in it.

Also, if yes, how would you explain this to family, if you would at all!

If this were true, I would take something like this but would not use it for myself.

I would grant this as a gift to a person who I have in mind that has lived a life making major decisions without suffering the consequences of their actions.

I would probably give this to one of the richest people on this planet and conveniently forget to tell them how to end their lives.

Maybe that way they would finally understand that what they are doing and finally the penny might drop when it comes to responsibilities.

I would certainly die with a nice big smile on my face and even in this life I will anyways.

I apologize if necessary.

But you would make your own personal hell for someone?

Someone such as 'Madoff".

Well let's just stick to you as a person
.

It isn't transferable. At that
, Redefined rules

Well in that case I would not take it.

Why would I want to stay around and witness everyone elses consequences.

In my own life I will witness my own actions having consequences if that makes sense.

The scenario you give is a curse, a never ending life of watching all your friends die, never ending work, seeing all the consequences of mistakes repeating forever, you would become so out of touch with other people as you learned as much as there is to know that you would come across insane to others.
A never ending hell of continuous torture in your own head wondering whether to end it or not.

As far as making my own hell for someone, its a lesson not a hell because they might figure out something in the process. Nobody like Madoff, thats just a myth to me, maybe the man behind that myth he created.

This exilir would probably have to be blood.

This seems to be what the gods drink and require so much of it in sacrifices. Perhaps it gives them longevity.

It is said King Herod bathed in blood to retore his youth and vigor.

I would not want to live forever. Not here on this planet, anyway.

Metaphorically that could mean King Herod bathed in his own blood.

Death.

Glad you put thought into it

Star!

Although I made sure to add that, There is an End, a safe word.

So it's not eternal!

You should rename the thread then..

"Invincibility, Immortality and moving goalpost options."

Jk

I do find this fascinating however....

Vincibility = Capable of being overcome or defeated

In defeat, human beings learn how to win.

Invincibility = Incapable of being overcome or defeated; unconquerable.

This alone can go as deep as you like.
