I know this is a stretch, but if you kinda mash it all together, you get this...
Water is well known that it does not compress, we have experimented with liquid O2 for deep water diving....
Why would this not also work for deep see vesels? "USO's"
I also believe it would be very usefull in high G applications too, but its only my silly little theory....

UFOs & Water Case-Broadwater County Montana, 1940
At an isolated location miner Udo Wartena saw a large disc shaped object about 35 foot high and over 100 feet across hovering above a meadow.
The object resembled two soup plates, one inverted over the other and stainless steel in appearance.
Wartena then saw a staircase unfold from the bottom of the craft. Out of it came a man who asked him if the ship could take some water. The man
then invited Wartena inside the object.
Wartena accepted and met another man inside that told him they had come from a distant planet and were 609 years old.
They also claimed that they hadn't seen Wartena when they began their descent, since they usually avoided human contact. But they also said they had
come "to gather information, leave instructions, or give help where needed."
They told Wartena that their ship was powered "by hydrogen extracted from water, that created its own gravitational field." When Wartena left the
ship, it rose straight into the air and quickly disappeared.

Vico, Italy.
A man who was fishing in the Serchio River saw a disk hovering for 10 min. From it hung a hose that plunged into the water. The object was 20 m in
diameter, with five propellers in the rear and a dome with something like blades on top.
An orange glow could be seen through slits along the deck.
A man wearing a diving helmet looked at the witness through a window, and he received a kind of electric shock as a "green ray" hit him.
He looked up with difficulty, in time to see the object fly away toward the east.
Six days later, a stranger with a foreign accent contacted the witness and intimidated him.

UFOs & Water Case, Pardo River, Brazil, 11-04-1954
On November 4, 1954, Jose Alves of Pontal was fishing in the Pardo River near Pontal. The area was deserted, the night quiet with only a slight
breeze blowing from the east.
Suddenly Alves spotted a strange craft in the sky, apparently heading toward him. He watched, transfixed, as it closed in with a wobbling motion and
landed.
It was so near he could have touched it, he said. The object appearing as two washbowls placed together, looked to be about ten to fifteen feet in
diameter. He was too frightened to run.
Three little men, clad in white clothing with close-fitting skull caps, emerged from a window-like opening in the side of the small craft. Their
skin appeared to be quite dark.
Alves stood terror-stricken, watching the small creatures collect samples of grass, herbs and leaves of trees; one of them filled a shiny metal tube
with river water.
Then, as suddenly as they had come, they jumped back into their machine, which took off vertically as swiftly and as silently as it had come.
Residents of Pontal, who heard Alves's story when he came back to town, told the press that he was a quiet man who lived only for "his work and his
family."
He had never heard of flying saucers and he was sure the little men were some kind of devils.

Heinrich Ivanovich was driving his motorcycle along the Kama River near a wooded area. On the side of the road he noticed a man who suddenly
raised his hand as if saluting.
Ivanovich slowed his motorbike and approached the stranger. As he approached he noticed a strange disc-shaped object on the ground close to the
stranger. The stranger wore a grayish-metallic overall with thick-soled boots.
The man did not wear a hat and had a short haircut. On his left hand he held a hose-like implement, which was apparently extracting water from the
Kama River.
At the end of the encounter the stranger asked Ivanovich to stay back from the object and to just observe it take off. The object had a
semi-transparent green colored globular dome on top..

UFOs & Water Case, Germany, 1970
"Suddenly, I can't say why, ! turned round, and was astonished to see what looked like a torn-off portion of the skeleton of a plant coming
whirling along on the right-hand side of the road. I waited for the wind to drive it into the ditch. But, on the contrary, despite the boisterous
cross-wind, the 'something' carried on its course, straight ahead, close to the ground.
Slowly it overtook me, on the right-hand side of the road, and I could now see that this was no plant. What at first glance had looked like the
skeleton of a plant was in fact a transparent ball some 40 cms. wide, which had spokes inside it."
"From a dark spherical nucleus with hazy edges there came eight radials or spokes which, as viewed together from the centre, all projected at an
angle of 70° or 75°. The spokes tapered off towards their outer extremities, their tips extending to the perimeter of the globe, which was almost as
clear as glass but non-reflecting.
Seen from where I was, the thing was rotating on a vertical axis and anti-clockwise, and was floating, indeed gliding along, rather than rolling, a
mere hand's breadth above the ground."
"As the thing passed me, I increased my pace and stepped out after it. At the moment of the encounter I was not frightened, merely astonished and
curious. But I was incapable of doing anything whatsoever: such as picking up a stone, or going over to the thing and giving it a kick with my foot.
I was stopped from doing so, and could only look on and observe. The thing may have rolled along in this way beside me for about 150 metres or so.
Then it halted, did a right-angle turn towards the little stream of water, and stopped there. The rotation stopped too.
"What I now observed is beyond my power to comprehend. From the dark centre of the ball there emerged, downwards, something resembling a hose-pipe,
which bent itself back and upwards like a 'U' and then writhed about sideways several times (see sketches).
In the bend that was nearest to the ball there appeared a gleam like brightly glowing hot iron. The glowing colour grew darker towards the more
distant convolutions, and was only visible on the outward facing sides of each convolution of the hosepipe.
"The hosepipe started wriggling about like a worm, extended itself, and went down to the ground. I am convinced that it reached into the water. The
'worm' remained there for a short while, and then was drawn back in again.
At the same time, the central part of the ball changed colour throughout half of its radius, becoming milky, like water just before it boils. The
outer shell of the ball now displayed a bluish tinge, somewhat like the ionized air to be seen around electrical high tension generators.
Then the strange object slowly started its rotating, gliding movement again, passed across the road, quite close to me, to a point a pace or so into
the field. And there it vanished, so absolutely silently, and at such lightning speed, straight upwards into the sky, that I was unable to follow it
with my eyes.

UFOs & Water Case, Bradenton, Florida, 12-13-1973
WITNESSES: Patrick Trush/John Dowdy/George Montgomery.
Patrick Thrush was driving north on 27th Street E when he saw what he thought was an airplane in trouble descending toward the Braden River. As he
reached the intersection of 27th Street and Manatee Avenue the object had disappeared below the horizon.
Thrush turned west on Manatee Avenue and drove the short distance to the river. At the river he pulled his car off the road onto an embankment, as he
started to turn the car around, the high beams from his car picked up a silvery reflecting object hovering 20 feet above the river. A tube extended
from the object to the surface of the water. "I just sat there a second," Thrush stated, then he took his camera from the car and took two
photographs, using a strobe. The camera was a Canon FT-QL with a 55mm lens.
As soon as the flash went off, the tube, which had been at an angle, straightened up and began retracting into the object. When the tube disappeared,
the object headed toward the embankment where Trush was standing. He said he heard several loud clanks and a splash, indicating that something had
dropped in the water.
The object moved toward the car and descended slightly, passing over the hood of the automobile, missing the car by about seven feet. Thrush heard
something hit the car hood; the object changed direction and moved rapidly to the west, in a curved path.
When the object first began to move it was a pale bluish-green. As it picked up speed it changed to a reddish-orange and rapidly disappeared in the
distance.

67-year old Joao Inacio Ribeiro was walking along the oceanfront when he saw a circular object about 10 meters in diameter approach from the
sea. It had brilliant blue, yellow, green, and lilac colored lights. On its upper section it had a sort of cabin or cupola with 3 circular windows.
The craft approached, stopped, and hovered above the waters, causing the area directly below the object to become agitated and choppy. Ribeiro then
saw two short humanoids appear on top of the craft.
The figures were about 1 meter in height, and wore gray colored tight fitting outfits.
The beings were baldheaded, with small noses and mouths and huge black eyes. One carried something resembling a walking cane; the other had what
appeared to be a vacuum cleaner like object.
Both beings then began operating the vacuum like object seemingly extracting water from the ocean. After 10 minutes they re-entered the object.
Moments later the object descended to 10 meters above the waters causing them to become even more turbulent, creating large waves and foam.
Afraid Ribeiro ran home.

Other water reports:
08-08-1967
Four days later, on the 8th, Evangelic Pastor Estanislao Lugo Contreras of Salina, Venezuela, was at the shore shortly after dark when he saw
an object which he described as disc-shaped and giving off a very bright orange glow. The disc rose out of the sea at about 500 meters (1650 feet)
from shore, hovered for a few seconds, then, as in the Yepes incident; rose obliquely into the sky, disappearing within seconds. Unlike Yepes, Pastor
Contreras heard what he described as a "buzzing" sound.
When he first noticed the phenomenon, Contreras was attracted by the fact that the sea started to "wrinkle up" or "stir up" in a vast round
area. The color of the water in that particular area--Salina is six miles north of the resort city of Arrecifes--is much darker than elsewhere nearby,
so the change was easily noticeable. A few moments after the stirring up was noticed, the water began to turn a lighter hue, then a light-blue shade
which was very intense. The area continued to grow lighter, then turned whitish, then yellowish, and lastly a brilliant orange shade. Contreras then
noticed the sound of the object, which he described as "intense and deafening"; he also felt a tingling sensation in his feet. At this point the
huge "pancake"-shaped object emerged from the sea, hovered, and left toward Maiquetía in a slanting ascending pattern.

Almost 80 miles to the east is the fishing harbor and resort of Łeba, located on the open sea with several coastal lakes nearby. On a Sunday,
September 24, 1961, Czaslaw Kawecki, a 28 year old textile technician, was enjoying the last evening hours of his summer vacation.
Then, suddenly, he was almost startled out of his wits. Later, he told Szachnowski:
"A sudden noise of rushing waters made me turn toward the sea again. And right in front of me, about 1000 feet from the shore, the surface was
rising in one spot. It looked like a round hill--pushed up from beneath. Then, splashes of water gushed from the top and, like fountain jets, fell
around the 'hole' in the waves. From this opening in the water emerged an object which at first I thought to be an elongated triangle.... "
Kawecki admitted mixed feelings of excitement and uneasiness at this point, but he resolved to hold his ground and watch further developments.
"The object rose a few yards," Kawecki continued, "and hovered above this same spot, but there was now a whirlpool of water rushing inward with
a loud sucking and gurgling noise. The object itself was black and silent.
"Suddenly there appeared a belt of steady white light segmented by a number of convex dark streaks. This light made glowing reflections on the lower
rim of the object. It also lighted considerably the upper rim and all the rest.
Now it became apparent that 'the thing' had the shape of a huge inverted funnel with two rims, separated by a belt of segmented light. About halfway
up the upper part was a thin strip of something whiter than the rest on a rather dark body. The slits end of this 'funnel' had a rounded top from
which protruded a stump, thinning upward and bent in the middle on one side.
"The stillness of the object lasted about a minute, then there appeared the glow of a second light under the object. It was also a white one, but much
stronger and sharper than that emitted by the segmented belt. Almost immediately the 'funnel' tilted slowly northwards--revealing the bottom.
After remaining in this position for about half a minute without changing, it glided about 50 yards eastward, stopped, but soon glided back and
stopped again. All this time the bottom of the object was visible to me."

Bright objects hang over sea.
RAF pilot and two NCOs from RAF Boulmer in Northumberland witness UFO over North sea:
QUOTE
In July 1977 Flt Lt A M Wood reported "bright objects hanging over the sea". The MoD document adds that the RAF officer said the closest object was
"luminous, round and four to five times larger than a Whirlwind helicopter".
The UFOs were reported to be three miles out to sea at a height of about 5,000ft.
The officer, whose report is supported by Cpl Torrington and Sgt Graham, said: "The objects separated. Then one went west of the other, as it
maneuvered it changed shape to become body-shaped with projections like arms and legs." The men who were positioned at the picket post at the RAF
station were able to observe the strange objects for an hour and 40 minutes.
At the same time a radar station detected the objects in exactly the same position as the men had observed them. It registered them to be
between 30 to 35 degrees before they disappeared from the screen.
The report describes Flt Lt Wood as "reliable and sober". It adds:
"Two contacts were noted on radar, both T84 and T85, at RAF Boulmer. They were also seen on the Staxton Wold radar picture which is relayed to West
Drayton... On seeing the objects on radar the duty controller checked with the SRO at RAF West Drayton as to whether he could see the objects on radar
supplied from RAF Staxton Wold."
This account was deemed so sensitive to the national interest that the MoD had delayed its release for an extra three years. But under the
Freedom of Information Act, which came into force on 1 January, the file has been reviewed and declassified.

Great thread; rewarded accordingly.
Maybe aliens are giving post procedural sips of water to abductees who sheepishly ask for a dixie cup upon coming to after experiments
On a more serious note, I love cases that demonstrate continuity in narrative and subject matter. It lends credibility to the existence of ufos and
their witnesses if their behavior is more than just a light floating around in the sky or a flash of light or disk streaking through the sky for no
reason. Kind of hard to mistake what they are talking about with a bird or plane or meteorite.
What many are seeing is purposeful terrestrial interaction that has obvious deeper meaning, that being the scarcity of water in the universe or at
least our galaxy, and the usefulness of water at so many levels. Who knows what they need it for. Perhaps exactly what we need it for, drinking.
I would love to see more threads like these on other similar terrestrial interaction. I remember reading an article not long ago about a case that
broke after a long time held silence after one witness who had sworn his companions to secrecy for fear of ridicule passed away.
The story went something like:
Three middle aged men were hunting near a large forested ridge area that provided a great vantage point of a small town. As the three emerged from
the forest to where the ridge cliff was, they noticed the lights on the communities street posts and other prominent sources, some distance away,
were slowly pulsing bright to dim bright to dim. Considerably closer to where they were standing was a large power distribution grid, I would
suspect for the community. Hovering silently above the grid was a huge black disk that was emanating a blue white beam into the grid.
They watched it for sometime and got nervous as they were out in the open and felt vulnerable. One man was visibly shaken and swore the other two
to secrecy. I think it happened sometime in the 80's.
An amateur researcher/enthusiast who was a friend of one of the hunters got the story shortly after the other hunter passed away. The researcher
knowing the significance of what he was being told took the details of the case to his scientific friends. Most indicated that the ship was most
likely putting something into the grid as opposed to taking something out because they speculated that there would be little need of a ship of that
magnitude and advancement to be tapping our primitive sources of energy. Kinda makes you wonder. Perhaps downloading or monitoring information from
our societies via the power grid. Who knows.
The researcher who knew the man as a family friend said he was extremely conservative, the kind of man who chooses his words wisely and often says
few. Would never talk about such things. He got a phone call to meet him for coffee at a random place and felt awkward explaining it.

amplifying pickup system, the two men scanned the sky with binoculars. A brilliant object at low altitude was visible maneuvering erratically to the
southwest. As it moved, the UFO changed color from white to bluish-white to green and red.For about twenty minutes, Rose and Orr watched the
gyrating object as it moved forward, up and down. At one point, the UFO hovered over Center Lake for about 10 minutes. Its maneuvers were totally
unlike an aircraft, and it moved against the wind.

I think they are humaniod like us and have needs very similar to us but to be honest i'm not sure the beings would have been trying to get kinks or
knots out of the hose?
As i'd imagine having an anti gravity ship that can travel at mind bending speeds and can cloak to be invisible to the naked eye they would probably
have something better than a common garden hose to take on water?
Infact i wondered where my garden hose went to last year? As im sure there craft can probably do a bit of time travelling too, Did it specify if the
witness seen a wrap of duct tape close to the end of the hose?
Seriously though i guess scaled up, Earth is just a motorway service station like a little chef or shell garage or something along those lines, so
they were probably taking on fluids for fuel purposes, oxygen for interstellar travel and consumption for themselves.
If the 1914 witness listened carefully he would have probably heard a faint moooo moooo as im sure they have to eat aswell and there is plenty of beef
to take from this planet?
Thats Earth in a universal sense, A roadside service station!
Which begs the question, What do they do when they have a "puncture" or an "overheating engine" who helps fix the radiator?
Obviously the goverment do but "we dont know that"

Puerto Rico Disc Seen Taking Up Seawater
PUERTO RICO SAUCER TAKES ON WATER
VIEGUES - Amidst the mysteries of a U.S. Naval base in Puerto Rico are strange reports of UFO and alien activity. Puerto Rican Ufologist Jorge Martin
interviewed Angel Encarnacion, a Vieques fisherman, who said that "One night, while fishing out at sea south of the Navy's shooting range, and
east of Vieques, we saw in the distance a really big and shining light. Getting closer, we saw that it a huge round saucer object with lots of lights
turning on and off all around the ship." "On the bottom middle there was a really big green light, aimed at the ocean's surface," said
Encarnacion. "It wasn't more than 100 feet above the ocean. What shocked me most was seeing the object absorb water from the ocean. You could
actually see a big volume of water rising and entering the object. You could not see any fish or anything else in the water going up." Throughout
the operation, he said, there was no sound. He and his crew saw strange activity on another night, "a shiny green light rose from the bottom of the
ocean," and suddenly disappeared as they heard "the sound of water falling into the ocean nearby," but with no object in sight. They heard--but did
not see- something rising in the night sky.

Thanks for the replies -it always worries me when people make the 'huge distance' assumption.
Another assumption could be that sufficiently advanced civilisations live 'off planet' in self contained ships free from the dangers of
earthquakes, volcanoes, tidal waves etc.. thus negating the distance problem.
Maybe thats the problem with presuming things - we just don't know anything.
In fact the only thing we do know is that there are quite a few UFO incidents which completely defy rational explanantion.
