"The target was Ismail Khan," Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman who claimed responsibility for the attack, told the Reuters news agency by telephone from an undisclosed location.

The fighting continues, how can the West win an unjustified war, it isn't possible.

An unjustified war can only be won if the objectives are to take revenge, but this war has more objectives,

the western world is still dreaming about a Western loving Afghanistan. It is a fantasy, another empire on the brink of collapse at the hands of Afghans.

Good luck to the Afghan people, hopefully they won't make the same mistake they made after the departure of USSR.

I don't understand how the US government and military can't understand that they can't occupy these middle eastern countries forever.

There are two possibilities.

The first is that they really think they can do it. That if they try harder and spend more money, they they can turn the tide of public support towards the western thought, which is UNLIKELY.

The second is that they want to destroy these countries' economies to make it easy for multinational corporations to come in and "turn their economies around.'

I guess they believe oil is worth all the hustle. Think about it, a country can only dominate through oil, so the powerful nations will always go after oil because tanks use it, planes, jets, missiles, cars, trucks, etc etc.
