Grand Lodges assign Lodges numbers based on the numerical sequence of their coming into existence. Say, for example, you live in California, and there
are 600 Lodges there. If you and friends form a new Lodge, you will be Lodge No. 601.
In the USA, each state has its own Grand Lodge, meaning each state will have a Lodge numbered 134 if there are at least that amount of Lodges. Same
with the Canadian provinces.
