I retired frrom the Auto Industry in 2002. I got bored sitting around and now pack boxes in a Print Shop.
I suggest a hobby before you retire so you have something to occupy your time. If I had one, I'd not be working now.

Right now, I am a homemaker.
When I was working, I was an Engineering Technician and CAD operator at Intel. My group designed mother boards and I designed the schematics, did board layout and simulation. I also built all the simulation components.

Before that I worked at GTE and Siemens Transmission Systems.

I am and have been a government grunt for a long time testing and inspecting wells for potability. The sampling part, not running tests. Then I was a homemaker(hardest and most rewarding job
but I needed to go back to work full time so now I am a secretary in a welfare office.

The exciting and lucrative world of contracting. Yes I always lie and act like it gets really exciting and that I get to sneak around in the back streets of Timbuktu, Mali trailing the Allah bomb. No actually I just get stuck with strategic forecasting and hypothetical collection management exercises and I am surrounded by defense geeks. Don't get me wrong it is better than working at Wal-Mart or some law firm but there is plenty of boredom and long hours.
