It should be plain and apparent to all but the brainwashed subservient that the first throess of civil war are here.

We have
Military abductions and Kids singing songs that worship the president to the tune of religious hymns, and Census workers getting murdered with the word FED etched into their bodies.

These are not the acts of a democratic representative republic with a strong core. These are the acts of a dying nation in its death throws as tyranny takes ahold.

We did not fight hard enough when we were told we would all be wiretapped and we did not fight hard enough when we were told people would be arrested and detained with out charges. Now it is coming home to roost.

Even more disturbing is the amount of folks I see on this website that argue in defense of these actions. People that are calling these events fake or set up because they can not be real. Disturbing because these folks are the ones who will voluntarily get chipped and snitch on their fellow man who won't get chipped. The ones that will weed out us conspiracy nutters for posing a threat to the regime as domestic terrorists. The ones that have already forgotten the lessons of world war two and can not understand the parallels between then and now.

We are in horrible shape and I know it is just a matter of time before open and violent rebellion escalates. As it does mass arrests will pick up the innocent along with the guilty indiscriminately in the name of protecting the safety of the Union. As the rebels fight back innocent casualties will suffer as they fight for their right to be free from tyranny.

It seems unavoidable now. Is peace at any price really worth subjugation or is our duty to fight and die in order to stop the monster that tyranny? Either way the costs will be blood. No matter what innocent people just trying to live their lives will suffer.
Such is the nature of war.

Years ago I thought I would be willing to fight. I thought I would stand up to oppression. But I stood alone for none were willing to stand up to oppression with me. Then I saw the costs of fighting. Now I don't know. For now I have chosen not to take a side. To hide in the woods and let the nation figure out what it will do to itself. Not to sit in idleness but to give you all time to accept the reality of todays world. To see if you all will accept totalitarianism or liberty.

We live in strange days.

Indeed it does only take one spark to start a forest fire...but what I see here today is not one spark but a propane torch of sparks just waiting for the wet wood to catch fire.

I did not even touch on the amount of rampant police abuse of power... I did not think it need be said what with a new Tazer thread on ATS almost every other day. Most recently a man with no legs in a wheelchair was Tazzed. What kind of a threat a man with no legs poses is beyond me but last I read the police in question were still on the streets on active duty.

And I dont think I need to link the tazzering of the Kid who was tazzed at the John Kerry Speaking event who was tazzed for asking controversial questions.

Hey, I agree that these days are full of angst and uncertainty, and as you said, it didn't start with the election of Obama, it started long before that. I am one of those who voted for Obama, based largely on his promises of repealing the Patriot Act, with all of it's constitution stripping sub-sections. But he hasn't.

I believe that we aren't IN the middle of the problem, I believe that we are on the precipice, sort of teetering on the brink, we could fall one way and the country could fall, or I believe that we could place aside all of the silly distractions and work TOWARDS something that will pull us away from the brink.

The distractions I speak of, and the garbage about being born in Kenya, being a socialist, communist, and being a secret muslim. Putting an end to the garbage that separates us would be a good start. Relentlessly attacking our only President would be a good start. Pulling together on something that we can all agree on, and ignoring those that we can't agree on, well that would also be a good place to start.

As has been established, none of these problems started yesterday, they have been years in the making.

Alas, I am dreaming, because we are doomed. The religious right will not abandon their agendas long enough to work towards a single goal, neither will the "Birthers", nor the warmongers, nor the social conservatives and neither will the liberals.

It's a nice start, but we are too divided, we are too ignorant, we are doomed.

And we will get the kind of world community that we deserve.

History DOES repeat itself and it is right now - welcome to the 4th Reich. Anyone denying the similarities or making excuses supporting what our government is doing to us either doesn't know history or is simply delusional. Generations from now will recognize 2008 as the turning point that led to the fall of the great American empire. 2010 will mark the date of the "Second shot heard around the world" and it will be fired right here on American soil. About this I have absolutely not a single doubt!

The secret freedom fighter maximizes his own freedom while minimizing the risks. He foregoes the
psychological need for recognition by acting alone, contrary to man's need to band with others in times of
trouble.
Unlike a member of an underground resistance movement, the secret freedom fighter has to be the invisible
man in order to inflict the most harm he can to the authorities who are stealing his freedom, while also
making himself less vulnerable to those who may betray him and turn him in to the authorities. A pat on the
back and support and encouragement from others are not to come to him.
The whole idea is that there will be a lot of other people out there doing the same thing. It's the combined
effect that counts.

Well as your Canadian I think it will not affect you as much as it will us down south of you.. More over Throws not throes. I choose to spell it that way. As long as you can understand to context of my words the is the important thing right... For if we where all held to account for our spelling and grammatical errors then none of us would be innocent.

As for this revolution you speak of.... Its a war... and all wars are bloody senseless things that should of been avoidable.....Then again this US government seems to desire it with their policies and mannerisms....

I don't know what to say.... if your a religious man I would say pray.

Your avatar speaks volumes about your viewpoint. As an American, communism will NEVER be an acceptable substitute for the way of life that I knew as a child in the '60's, and can now see is slipping away. Freedom is worth the cost of preserving it.

Mmm, ok titorite ... explain ...

We have Military abductions and Kids singing songs that worship the president to the tune of religious hymns, and Census workers getting murdered with the word FED etched into their bodies.

Oh that ... meh, here in DC we call those Tuesdays.

I wouldn't stress about it too much ... in the confines of ATS we always seem to be a thread away from revolution, economic collapse. And for the brainwashed like myself, I think today I'll pick up one of these instead of one of these.

I think you'll find most Americans similarly disposed.

Well Schrodinger, I see folks coming to the defense of improper events like the leggless man who got tazzed. I read of folks saying he deserved it. In the video of the military abduction I see folks continuing on that it must be fake. In the older footage of freespeech zones I see people saying that protesters should not be allowed to to voice their opinion and should be relegated to those freespeech zones.

Thoughts like the above are thoughts of the kind of person that has no qualm with government atrocities. They see nothing wrong with using torture on citizens to protect them so long as they are not the citizen being tortured.

It takes years of propaganda to develop that kind of obedient 1984 system slave.

And for those of us not totally oblivious to the signs of the times we have to accept that the DIEBOLD voting machines can be rigged and that our vote and our voice does not carry the same weight it once did...

And how can it when we are locked away into a freespeech zone to far from anyone to here our voice?

As a fellow American child of the 60s who saw the ship sinking a quarter century ago, it seems to me that you guys need to get your feces consolidated and fight this war with peace.

As for an American not accepting communism, it's because you have no idea what communism really is. What you were told was a load of sh*t, it was US propaganda to keep you in the factories for meagre wages but making a helluvalotta money for the very people who are subjugating you now. Or had you not noticed that part yet? You will, oh, you will. And when you do, you'll cry for socialism and yes even communism because it's better than what you'll have very shortly.

What you all believe to be communism is actually Stalinism. Communism, particularly Marxism, is the system we need to look toward for the future of mankind.

No, never! Any chance you are a dis-info agent, just looking for brave Americans that you can tag as 'enemies of the state'? I guess you wouldn't admit it, if you were. Communism assumes that all will work hard so that all can live well. This is in direct contradiction to the 'We pretend to work, and the government pretends to pay us' viewpoint of a worker under the control of the state. You can never control the hearts and minds of the people.
