Someone just screwed the pooch.
They shouldn't broadcast a deceased persons' name without the family being contacted first.

Hotmail street bridge protesters converging all units responding?

I guess both channels are broadcasting the same thing.

Yeah, they don't have any more batteries for their G20 radios.
This reeks to me.
FEMA is on the ground.
FEMA most likely is running the show here.
Did FEMA not provide extra batteries for their unique radios?

By not providing batteries will the channels not get crossed when peoples' radios run dead?
They are forced to use their standard issue radios.

Will this not create confusion? As we are seeing?

This isn't good, from where I sit.

You don't tell beat cops to "look" for the family of Monroe Birch.
You handle that at the dispatch.
You DO NOT relay the name of a deceased person until their family is notified.

This is weird.

Almost like a stage-play.

Seems like the chatter comes and goes, but I'm fairly certain there are more channels than what we get with those 2.

I was getting some dropouts on the main page stream, when using the embedded player.
Much better to select it from the menu below.

National guard is holding a box of "paperwork" at 16th and liberty.

Me needs some popcorn for this.

While all the activity seems to gotten worse out of no-where .. what's going on in the G20 Hotel? .. They occupants of the G20 Conference must hear what is going on all around them.

Activity seemed to spike all of a sudden.

I've seen a couple of posts about asking about "morse code" being heard over the radio. It's not morse code. They have a trunking radio, which broadcasts the transmission over several frequencies to prevent eavesdropping. These systems are now digital to allow for quicker transmissions. You push a button in your squad car for on scene, en route, in service, or whatever. It broadcasts it in a short burst to free the airwaves for other traffic as a series of beeps that dispatch computers see as whatever button was pushed. Same thing with hand held radios, but they're generally officer in trouble panic type message. Simplex systems use one frequency and are not (unless they've been updated) digitally supported, meaning all traffic has to be verbalized. Hope that clears up some of the confusion about the beeps everyones' hearing.

Huh, the rest of my post got cut off. Oh well, here it is...

I seen where someone posted about the Army being there. Is this true or are they meaning National Guard? The Army has NO rights to do police action on US soil. National Guard ONLY has the right if activated by the Governor and if their constitution allows it. I'm not familiar with their constitution. If the National Guard is there under federal orders, they've been activated as a federal force and fall under Army and can't do police action on US soil. Be nice to get clarification of what forces are involved and who activated them...

One thing that is crazy about this is they are all over protesters like every one of them is potentially a criminal. I've listened to many scanners in different cities, and this is very action packed even for a city this size. The radios going out on them though makes me very curious what the intention was.

Things are picking back up.

I'll ask this again, WHY do the cops have a special TYPE of radio for G20 calls?! Why not just use a separate frequency to a seaparate dispatch?
This way there is no worries about lack of batteries.

This is creating way too much confusion.

Most likely purposeful. In my estimation anyhow.

Anyone here anything else about the dorms being blocked by police? Are they scared that they will join the protests?

If true how can they lock down dorms and keep people in? They have not declared martial law right?
