Not only is that not photoshopped,
it's the spitting image of my ex-wife

Very cool pics, make me feel better about my own looks.
I don't find many of them disturbing but a 10 ft jellyfish
would make my day snorkeling officially over. I''ll never
forget the time I was diving off hatteras and came face to
face with an anglerfish. Headrush
Alas, it was dead and
washed into the shallows just to scare me. thanks, very
entertaining.

I too love those aye aye lemurs, they are great-but I laughed hard at the alternative description

Also number 9,the Cthulhu Larva
Great name, although it was the "head crabs" from half life that it reminded me of.

I would love a few of those in my tank-I would tell my neice that they cost loads because they had to be transported back from Mars.

Amazing whats out there in nature.

I can deal with pretty much anything in the water. I'm not afraid of a whole hell of a lot in the oceans. When I go snorkeling or diving, I look forward to seeing sharks and barracudas. But, for some reason, I have an irrational fear of jellyfish. Whenever there is one in the water, even a moon jelly or a harmless one with no tentacles, I make a beeline for the shore with superhuman speed. If I ever saw that 10-foot granrojo jellyfish, I don't think I'd even go in the water in my bathtub again...

Great post, S + F!

I knew Cthulhu was real now just wait til he grows up, we're all doomed.

That mole has to be the creepiest one, for Christ's sake it has tentacles for a face.

Bull Ants

These ants are well-known in Australia for their aggressive behavior and powerful stings.[1] The venom of these ants has the potential to induce anaphylactic shock in allergic sting victims. As with most severe allergic reactions, if left untreated the reaction may be lethal. These large, alert ants have characteristic large eyes and long, slender mandibles. They have superior vision, able to track and even follow intruders from a distance of 1 meter.
