Do we really need for history to completely repeat itself before I can say, too late I might add, there are many similarities between now and Obama and Hitler and Germany then. Are these our warnings?

The dire economic situations are similar. The cult of personalities are similar. The devious elitist advisers are similar. That many people blindly followed the offerings of hope and change is similar. That few fully knew the men they entrusted is similar. That some ignored what they knew about these men is similar.

Beyond that I just don't see it.

That was exactly the point. You can't prove the case either way, so why beat someone over the head with an opinion. This is the United States where (up until recently) we have to right to our opinions, but do not have the right to force them on to others.

I'm not on my knees to no one. Until you can prove a negative, I'll remain standing tall and face to the wind.

I realize this may be a little off topic but not so much that it's ridiculous or should be moved. The video which displays the children chanting for Obama I first found on ATS... I then saw it on CNN somewhat spliced with THIS

www.storyofstuff.com... , as Lou Dobbs was talking of what is being promoted and peddled in classrooms today.

Watch this video - Yes it sortof resembles school-house rock in the art conveyance however it is factual, conceptual, and significantly important. What could be...more important.

I have no problem with it. No matter who the president is. People need to leave the partisan politics out of school and let kids appreciate simple, innocent government while they are young.

The last daycare I took my son too had a decent portrait of Bush on the wall with flags. I have no problem with that. The potus is the potus. And personal afflications aside it needs to be respected.

To become potus(conspiracies aside) is a tremenous feat. You have to beat odds that are probably much higher then even winning the lottery...twice.

And a person deserves credit for it, especially of one of a minority race. And people who think it was easy for a black man to get elected really have no clue.

First post!

This is disturbing to say the least... On the other hand as much as someone hates President Obama, you cannot think that he would condone this type of silly brown nosing.

Let's do some growing up here.

Peace

A little patriotism in our classrooms - i think its good to see that we have a president for once that kids can be proud of - what are some of you afraid of?

Oh I forgot, some of you didn't vote for him and don't like him so you find this disturbing. I guess your comparing Obama to Pol Pot and Hitler is more patriotic? Time to get over the fact that Obama won the election folks and that his election makes many people proud. Get over your hate and start acting like Americans.

I did not read all the posts on this just the first few pages.
However..
What I did not see is anyone calling for a investigation as to where and when this was made or anyone trying to form a group to try to find out who is behind it We need to find this out then email ( politely) the school board, mayor of the city and governor of the state to find out why it was permitted.
I know there will be no help from the local pravda also known as the mainstream media. Nor from the so called justice department or supreme courts.
On the side is anyone taking bets acorn is mixed up in it somehow?

If anything, hopefully this will get parents to start to find out what is going on in their childrens school. I do know that if I had children, based off of what is being seen, I would have to not only investigate, but also look into home schooling. I understand that Barack Obama is the first president of african origin, ok, but why not sing a song about all of the presidents? Why just this one, and don't say it is cause it is black history month, cause that just does not wash. I also know that if I was the parent of a child in that school, the teacher, principle and superintendant of that school would be having a few words and some would not be nice.
I also agree that the lyrics do sound like the Sunday School song that is taught in church to children.
It is amazing, that in a few years they changed the policies to where the children can't sing Christmas Carols at school, but can sing the praises of a political leader.

The comparisons to Hitler are really becoming tiresome. In the 20's and early 30's Germany was a war devastated country, occupied by foreign troops and completely emasculated after WW1. The country was geographically fractured with ethnic Germans living as minorities in neighboring countries that had their borders shifted due to the the spoils of war. This is the stage that was set for Hitler. There is absolutely no comparison. Try studying some history and while you're at it, start acting like an American and support your president. Your delusional my friend.

If all US children sang this song every day, then I'd be very concerned. They're likely learning it for a patriotic program or one time presentation. This is not a daily occurrence. And it's ONE school. A group of 12 kids.

I think this is how changes start a little of singing here some ACORN Corruption there a H1N1 fabricated here civilian restrictions there do not do this do not do that patriot act here some liberties taken there ..this is how all starts little by little is to bad that the big picture is not even far from our sight is at a higher level .

The whole church and state separation thing should be expanded to idol worship and state.

For the love of pete people, dont put your kids in these government schools. They're just as bad as these private churchy schools with indoctrination and worse if you take into account the horrible educational standards they have.

Nowhere in our founding documents is there a clause or statement about the separation of church and state, only that the state may not make any ruling on the establishment of religion.

yes public schools need help.. but every time people try to get more money for the schools the same type of hype shows up and people have a fit, and as far as painting with a broad spectrum those who are doing this to obama and anyone who wants the system to change.. so again i reiterate the holier than thou crowd needs to practice what they preach...and remember the constitution isnt just for them

More money won't solve our educational crisis. Only removing government from the equation can solve that problem. Our problems with education began when government got involved in the first place.

This is my first time post. I have been following ATS for awhile, and I find many of the discussions thought provoking. But I must disagree with the tone of this thread, as I do not believe anything subversive is occurring with these children. I am not going to indicate my political beliefs, but I would like to say that I do not have a problem with children singing a song praising our president whether it be Obama, Bush or William Howard Taft. If I have missed something more significant in the thread, indicating a malicious act involved with this song, my apologies. But I really think we are getting off base when we chastise this act.

I have taught for near a decade and worked in liberal and conservative schools. I once was considered liberal and after seeing 9th graders perform explicit pornographic poetry while there young liberal teachers and administrators got off on it... well I was considered conservative and don't even get me started about how in the liberal states university developed 'new math' and 'new science' a committee of illiterate children derive a math or science theory that took an old bloke decades of learning and or work to develop while the teacher is no longer 'the expert' but the facilitator...

and I could go on and on with a few other choice examples of how liberal educational doctrines have destroyed the educational system by decimating the children's basic reading and math skills in this country including... between new math and no longer spanking and flunking in elementary over 50% of a given 9th grade class in an urban school has between 3-6th grade math and reading skills and before you jump on me for child abuse.... the dali lama told the UW educators that 'fear was a good motivator for children' and that his 'teacher had two whips in the classroom'

so kind they were not to spank and flunk, poor little egos was their justification... we pass them illiterate and they act like lord of the lies in the classroom and the community we were cruel

and btw looks like Jesus and Obama don't care too much about the little brown boys and girls?

The song quotes directly from the spiritual "Jesus Loves the Little Children," though Jesus' name is replaced with Obama's: "He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama."

i apolgize for for getting carried away. i will handel myself better.. i dont see how this video is subversive.. in anyway shape or form.. other than the fact that there has been many rhetorical acusations toward president Obama.. not the government in general.. as to the purpose of this video. it isw evedent that its just a group of school kids being presented with the idea that there is hope in equality in diversity.. and the post that was removed was based on the idea that the issue wasnt based solely on politics but a not so religous ideaology that was very questionable..

I think you are missing the point. You say partisan politics should be left out of schools, but fail to apply that to this song. This is about a teacher applying their political beliefs towards her students.

Nut sure if you heard about this yet, but it turns out that teacher also wrote a book about Obama, and says she went to school with Obama at Harvard. This is promotion of the teacher's beliefs and self interests to the utmost extreme. If the same happened with Bush, there should be an uproar. None of this has a place IN our schools.

The example you sighted of the picture of Bush in the daycare isn't relevant since nearly all schools always have pictures of the President up. Many have pictures of the governor also. That is not a political statement.

Don't you get how this could scare people? They took some of the lyrics to Christian songs, and replaced the name of Jesus with Obama's name.... People are so quick to not want to offend Muslims, or Jews or any number of religions, but tread without regard over Christians. Think about the reaction in the Muslim world if the name Allah was replaced by Obama in a song. Or if the face of Obama was put in the place of Allah on posters. Think about this..... apply the non-partisan standards to within the school, not just about how people react to what is happening in the schools....
