Of course, a star and a flag on this one.

I just finished "Dead Men's Secrets" by Jonathan Gray - which if you haven't read it theorizes the existence of a super race or races that preceded us.

As a subscriber to Occam's Razor (the simplest solution is the most likely one), I find that the super race theory much more plausible than the one ones where aliens gave us all we know, since history seems an easier road to travel than interstellar space.

Think about this, all those drawings and legends of flying vehicles and people could (more?) easily be explained by the activities of advanced humans.

Slayer you think there is any truth to the fact that perhaps Atlantis may be Antartica? Or tht when the see levels were lower they were indeed located in the Med?

Forgive me for answering a question for another member.

I created a thread to find that answer, well... At least half of it. I concluded Antarctica never was Atlantis.
I say this because the ice core data shows that Antarctica never was ice free ( only a part has been ice free ) for millions of years, long enough to sustain a society.

If you are interested. You can read it in the following link : Antarctica home to the legendary Atlantis ?

I do not rule out that there could have been people that lived there tho. But the available information let me say that it was not Atlantis.

Slayer..

I read through this abomination again, and I've concluded it is a perfect abomination...
.

I don't know what else to say that could make this better, or anything you came up with for part 2. I'm really looking forward to seeing your next batch of research.

Now hurry up and finish it!

Flooded worlds.
Like when the Earth flips it's poles or has a pole reversal.
The Earth keeps spinning the same way but the Sun rises and falls
are reversed.
And normal areas are flooded of course.
Probably the source of such tales by the story tellers.
Not permanent flooding in places but stories can build on very little
and much less than flooded valley ruins.

Chapter 5 'East and West' in 'Worlds in Collision' by
Immanuel Velikovsky goes over many references that
say two reversals took place making four ages of man.
Magnetic forces (or other) from the Sun keeps the Earth
in the same rotation around the Sun but Earth is in a bad
way and the night sky is reversed and the Sun moves
reversed.
Page 120 a Flanders mention of a comet causing catastrophe
still found in old traditions.
Page 124 the manuscript "Timaeus' indicated a 360 day year
introduced by the Hyksos ( people riding out the same catastrophe
as Egypt during the Exodus on the other side of the Red Sea
went north and took over Egypt) after the fall of the Middle
Kingdom. So apparently from 1500 to 800 BC is a concentration
by Velikovsky.

Thus flooded worlds is a tale in fact to some extent.
There was a massive explosion that some think is the end of
Atlantis but I do not recall the details.

It proves hands down that a city/civilization can be lost to time. That the Oceans can reclaim land that once held a civilization. It proves that one time myths are sometimes based on facts. It shows us that we don't know everything about human history. It also demonstrates that if we are to expand our knowledge and understanding of mans past we really need to start looking off the coast all around the planet.

Agreed.

Impressive work.

I was playing around with research on a topic and found info on Atlantis I had never heard of before,

Al-Andalus

Another proposal is that "Andalus" is an Arabic language version of the name "Atlantis". This idea has recently been defended by the Spanish historian Vallvé, but purely on the grounds that it is allegedly plausible phonetically and would explain several toponymic facts (no historical evidence was offered).[10]

Vallvé writes:

Arabic texts offering the first mentions of the island of al-Andalus and the sea of al-Andalus become extraordinarily clear if we substitute this expressions with "Atlantis" or "Atlantic". The same can be said with reference to Hercules and the Amazons whose island, according to Arabic commentaries of these Greek and Latin legends, was located in jauf al-Andalus—that is, to the north or interior of the Atlantic Ocean.

That's an interesting point of view, specially if we consider the names of some of Poseidon's sons.

Besides Atlas, from the name Atlantis came, he also had two sons named Elasippus (which sounds much like Olissipos, that now is called Lisbon) and Azaes, that can stretched a little to be seen as the origin of the name of the Azores.

That is actually very interesting.

Yet we still miss a continent. Is anyone aware about any research done that links Atlantis to the American continent ? I understand that there are a number of OOP parts found that tell an unknown story.

However I do not know if they are true or that it are only hoaxes
