3-4 leaps YES
2 1/2 NO

I've lived in Wisconsin and during the winter months on the long road trips back to Fon Du Lac from HoChunks casino where I bartended we encountered them on a nightly basis.

And yes full grown bucks do stand quite tall, but they are more meandering and would be more apt to charge a car as I know from repeated experience.

That thing on the video is not a deer.

Nothing I havent experienced before myself.
However thats a relatively small 2 lane road, not a wider 4 laned highway complete with center crashguard divider.

There is an enormous difference in lane widths.
Also that deer in your video lands slightly over the yellow line.

It would take at least 3 more bounds to cross the highway on the original video.

2-4. Very easily.

Come to oregon. your opinion will change.
During the winder months, deer are FAR less active, so yes, it makes sense that they would be more meandering than summer months.

Like I said. I have seen, with my own eyes, deers cover more distance than this in less strides. I have WATCHED them jump directly over moving cars. I see them cross highways, almost daily.

2 strides for a deer covers an amazing amount of distance when they are on the move.

Im not saying that is definitively a deer, but it certainly COULD be, and to claim it couldnt is false and silly.

Are you serious? It clears the car in 1 bound(which means it went higher than a normal stride. 2 in a half, while building momentum, would easily have gotten it across the other road. Its not brain surgery. At its increasing rate of speed, it would cover more distance on the second stride than it did on the first.

Throw in that we have no idea how much of a head of steam it built before crossing the 4 lane hwy, and claiming that it is not possible becomes completely moot and ignorant.

It looks like a Great Dane or an Irish Wolf Hound to me.

Probably so.

And for the rest.... why not read though some of the other threads on this before writing mindless c**p that has been written before.

ATS is getting filled with stuff that has been typed a hundred times over, all because people can't be bothered to use the search function or read through previous threads... it's this sort of behaviour that discredits the whole internet, not just ATS. Do some research folks and stop making it obvious you don't do the leg work.

OK fair enough, I dont doubt their leaping abilities so I credit you for that.
However that thing in the video isnt a deer is my point.
In fact it doesnt even appear to be cloven hoved whatsoever.

I agree it "runs like a deer." But, to me, it doesn't look like a deer. Did you stop it a couple of times? A deer has a long strong neck, and they keep their head upright. That thing has its head down like a greyhound or a hyena. It also appears to have more human-like hips in the rear. It just doesn't look quite right. I am not saying it is an alien, I think the "gollum" description was pretty close though!

Not all deer have long necks.

I personally do think it is a large dog. But again, to say it cant be a deer is false.

Also, i love that some people are more inclined to believe its a 4-legged grey alien running through traffic than a deer.

Just classic

Agreed.

I had a deer save it's stupid car-destroying life by jumping over the hood of my car and then jumping straight up a rock face that must be at least 8-9 feet tall.

Those things do the most graceful things sometimes, so it makes it all the more frustrating when about six of them stop in the road and stare deeply into your headlights.

This is so déjà-vu. I have been through this before.

LISTEN PEOPLE.

As I have already stated, this video was created FOR the BBC. Not debunked by.

CREATED FOR THE BBC.

It is a CGI fake, that aired on the BBC as an illustration for a program about the supernatural, called Britains X-files.

Here's a link to another similar video. Try watching it before you further ridicule yourselves...

What a joke. Grey alien my ....

When I first saw the video I was thinking a kangaroo, but I suppose it would have had to of been in Australia then.

Yes, deer can do this - I know I've seen a few & I've hit a few.

I've seen springbok in the Kalahari desert that could do it in one or two leaps. Yep Springbok can go up to 10 feet off the ground in a leap - add a little forward movement and they can cover quite a distance in a single leap.
