I thought it would be a neat idea if we posted some fake predictions, no matter how plausible, about what life might be like in our future.

Personally I think cloning will take off soon. Once the price of this comes down, say by 2200 AD, people will have mostly been replaced at the workplace by machines and robots. The last remaining humans that work will use clones of themselves while they soak up the sun. This will go on for any random amount of time, I will just say 200 years.

2400 AD
The clones will have learned their purpose as being slaves for the 'real' humans. Many will get angry and revolt. Much like racism, the 'real' humans will feel superior to the 'mimics' *which has become the racial slur for clones*. They will call the mimics names and begin segregating themselves. An all out war begins to take place.

2420 AD
After much fighting, the people are finally ready to settle once and for all. Several broken treaties and tattered promises have left any and all humans in a state of despair. Some 'real' humans began having relationships and fostering families with mimics. These become known as mixed children, just like today. One too many mixed families are murdered by extremist real humans. The only thing settling this war was the fact that another species from the stars intervened, but the real humans would begin to feel as if they were slaves to the ETs themselves. Quietly, a lone man in the distant future, put to waste and offered no home or food by society, begins plotting a revolution to take over control of Earth from the ETs. A new has war begun...........

My fake, implausible prediction for the future...

The United States will balance the federal budget, finally reducing the soaring debt we're about to be destroyed over. The federal government will re-confirm the US Constitution and begin immediately basing every decision it makes off of that document rather than searching for loopholes in it and excuses for not embracing it. The unemployment rate will return to a respectible 3%, the US middle class will once again find itself in the most enviable of positions... able to afford the average house, put good quality food on the table, enjoy the benefits of being able to afford Mom staying home to raise the children, and be able to watch the nightly TV without fear or apprehension of what Junior will see on it to corrupt him... Taxes, inflation, and interest rates will return to sanity and, once again, be something which workers complain about around the water cooler, but actually aren't that hindered by as they are manageable and just. The US will return to her rightfull position of being the envy of the world, representative of prosperity, fulfilled dreams, and, most importantly, FREEDOM. My kids will actually enjoy a better life than I have had, with a higher standard of living and high apple pie hopes and dreams.

The sun has some kind of strange activity for a few days and is shooting off some major flares. The government scientists do some studies and they see a horrible solar storm about to hit earth which will either kill or alter all life on the planet.

The government bunkers up all the people who they deem valuable, mostly soldiers and scientists. The solar storm hits and instead of killing everything, mutates those who are left out of the bunkers. They gain all sorts of special abilities but are now different looking compared to what they once looked like.

The mutated ones form colonies and a community with eachother and learn to use their abilities to help one another in the now harsh wasteland that is earth.
20 years pass and a large vault door slides open, the humans who were saved by their government emerge and find a hostile habitat that they must now use their scientists to make liveable. They form a colony and city around their protective vaults while keeping contact with other communities that have just emerged from their safe bunkers.

The scientists are successful in creating soil that they can grow crops and food in, not to mention all the technology that was stored with them are used to make advancements in their colonies.

A mutant hunting party stumbles across a farm that baffles them, they had not known this kind of sight since the great solar storm. They investigate and the colonists see them, they think they are monsters and shoot them on sight. One of the mutants sees his brothers fall and activates his natural cloaking and rushes back to his settlement where he explains to the leader of their society what happens.

Blah blah blah war ensues, no peace, death, humans never learn.

To be honest, I am hoping we get hit by a Cheez-it asteroid. lol. Then most of the problems we have will be too cheesy to fight over.

My predictions of our perfect future:

1) We've discovered how to turn our waste & trash into the energy required to fuel our "wastemobiles".

2) We'll learn how to be less selfish as a species and won't use our planet like our personal dumping ground. We'll treat ALL animals with respect and do away with industrial farming.

3) All religions and non-religioins will co-exist and we will all live in a state of agreement and mutual understanding.

4) Government will cease to exist and the people of society will help the needy and the homeless to better themselves.

5) Scientists will discover the cure for all diseases and no one will suffer any longer.

My date of prediction for these things to come to pass:

NEVER

this IS what will happen.
Some time in the next 100 years the human civilization will literally eat itself out of existence. We will fight wars for food but sooner or later there just wont BE enough food and people will die in droves. This is not a prediction, this is simply the logical outcome if the human population continues to skyrocket... and im sure it will.

The 2112 doomsday.

After 2012 and then 2013 come and go with very little noticable change, the Earth returns to it's abnormal self. Sometime around 2050-ish, the elderly remaining members of the 2012 doomsday religion realize that they had only mis-calculated the date. They forgot to carry the 1. They come to the conclusion that there was a wise trio of Canadian prophets in the latter half of the 20th century who called themselves Rush and that they wrote a rock song that was actually the final key to the Mayan prophecies and that the newly calculated date of the Apocalypse/Doomsday/Armageddon is December 21, 2112.

This reinvented religion takes it's followers into caves and mountains to await the formation of the Temples of Syrinx and the unholy priests who will rule over the Earth. When the Solar Federation returns under the banner of the Red Star so they can assume control, the followers of this new religion plan on revolting and overthrowing the invading Solar Federation. The date of this revolt is to be 12/21/2112.
