hello all and board staff..
i assume most regular users have noticed that over the last few weeks, their has been a crazy amount of people registering and instantly posting
something in the introductions forum, when it is not an introduction.
its not really an issue? i was just wondering why ... as its a kinda new phenomenon ..
when people register, they should get an invite saying to post a thread in the intro forum .. then post whatever they want where its meant to be,. 9if
its not already done... its a long time scince i registered lol)

No:
I'M NEW AND TRIED TO DO AS INSTRUCTED, BUT ENDED UP GOING AND POSTING JUST AS YOU HAVE SAID. FRANKLY, ITS A LITTLE CONFUSING... SO I SAID TO HECK

It's the result of our 20 post minimum rule. Starting back April (I think) we implemented a new 20 post requirement for starting a new thread in any
forum except the Introductions Forum. New members can post a reply anywhere on the site.
The reasons are simple and mundane...
We were getting hammered by those lovable spam bots.
We decided it would be easier to manage the spam in one forum and it would be much less bothersome for everyone else if it was all concentrated in the
Intro forum where we can delete it.

the introduction and not the news/conspiricys / ufo forums!

Perhaps an unforseen side effect is that new members get a taste of the community before they are able to post random ramblings in new threads
.
