It has been awhile since my last thread. I stirred up a lot of hatred with my health care thread and now am starting to see the propaganda piling up. I haven't watched any television other than HBO, Showtime and Sports shows in the past couple years. My spirituality has never been better. The goal of the elite is to divide and conquer the people. Through propaganda and mindless television shows that make us concentrate on the rich and famous instead of political issues and current events. What are we suppose to do? Study, educate, open your mind past partisan ideologies and racial boundaries. We the people are under attack and the only defense is knowledge. So please turn off your televisions and rely on your own personal study for information. The media is a tool of the elite to divide us. This goes for any country not limited to America, Britain, Canada Russia, China, North Korea or Iran. We the people are the same. Let us unite is spirit and mind and protect ourselves from biological warfare, eugenics, propaganda, hate, lust, religion and war. The time is now.

I would respectfully disagree. You can learn alot from what they are saying on television. What agendas are important, what issues are really important (by the air-time that they are/are not getting).
Looking at the media with a critical eye sometimes gives us an edge.
I read the DailyKos, not because I am full of hatred for the right, but for what kind of agenda some may be trying to set. The same way I watch MSNBC. It may make me ill, but with enough pepto, and scotch (never together) I can usually sit through 5 minutes or so of Keith Olbermann.

I use my TV for watching downloaded movies and sometimes documentaries. I noticed after only 6 months of doing this that I felt a lot stronger and more confident. I think its because I dont watch ads or news anymore. My mind feels stronger.

I highly recommend it to all. Everything important is on the web as well, so there is no need to use a TV to access important news. By using the Internet instead, you get more focus and time to think about what is being said. And what is NOT being said.

I have no problem with religion, it's organized religion (including evangelical atheism) I don't like.

I only get mad when I watch TV. I can twitter all day, but if I watch TV I get so upset I have to do something to calm down. The lies are so crass, the push into genocide so obvious. It's one thing to talk about it on twitter, but to see it unfolding and watching them lie, throws me for a loop

I wish I could turn it off but I haven't owned a TV for over 10 years now.

The internet gives me all the info and entertainment I want and I get to choose.

I Stared and flagged this cuz some of your post I agree with such as the excessive TV watching but the other part, the divide and conquer stuff I have mixed feeling on.

There is not a day that goes by someone, somewhere, is reminding me of "How they divide and conquer us", and, "the importance of unity". Now I know this and I think most others do also. I will agree, this is sound advice only so far.

Like anything, It's only good advice to the degree it can applied.

What, am I supposed to unite with, ...others to lecture me even further on the divide and conquer meme? Sometimes this advice comes from fear. That’s not good, and if your not to careful you might find your self united with other people bonded to same emotion where everyone is just agreeing to be afraid of something . That is counter survival and benefits no one.

So you see, there is a point where this advice is no longer useful. There is nothing wrong with being united with others of like mind so long as long as you do not compromise yourself. The function of groups is basically to agree. Nothing wrong with that so long as you know that no group can ever have all the answers you or your situation may need.

Your individual qualities, your ability to tell the difference between various opinions and advice. Your freedom of choice in what is good and worthwhile for you and your choice to discard that which is not worthwhile. This, your individual qualities will determine your survival more than any group ever will.

It's hard for some to understand, Ultimately, your ability and freedom to choose offends those who wish to control you. So, that which is coming after you, what it is after is your ability and freedom to choose. It all boils to just that. Now ask yourself this. If your enslaver, your would be master who desires so much to control you, considers your ability and freedom to choose, be of such paramount importance, why do you not feel the same? Why do you take for granted that which evil considers consider to be of supreme importance? Has it occurred to you, your freedom and ability to choose is a weapon? This is why evil wind’s it so bad. It knows damd well it cannot get to you with first taking your weapon, Worse yet, evil knows, proper use of this weapon will end it's existence.

So wake up! stop looking elsewhere for someone else to save your butt. Look where your supposed to look for answers, look to yourself, and behold the weapon you have that terrifies the mighty. Wake up and see the importance of what have and stop giving it away piecemeal to your governments, your religious leaders and other deceivers. Fight like a grizzly bear to keep this precious thing.

It is you and your freedom and ability to choose that is the “Sword in the Stone”. Here is your real source of power. Remember, The legion of the Sword in the Stone? many tried to remove the sword from the stone, but could not. Neither could an entire group. Only a single worthy individual could do it. It is totally an individual thing. not a group thing. Only a worthy individual who understands and appreciates it's power, may pull the “Sword from the Stone“.

I haven't watched T.V in over a year now and I don't miss it one bit .

I tend to agree with the other posts , the internet more then meets my needs for news gathering as well as entertainment purposes .

And lets not forget to mention , good old fashion reading
